Keto Diet in 100 Words or Less

Here is a summary of the KETO diet. Eat anything you want, but limit it to 20 grams of NET carbs a day ... that's total carbs of a food minus its fiber count, so 10 grams carbs and 5 grams fiber is a net of 5 carbs for that food. You'll have the "Keto flu" symptoms for 3 - 5 days. You may feel like you actually have the flu while your body is going through withdrawals. Eat fresh, no processed foods and healthy fats as much as you can; But bacon, eggs, beef, chicken, cheese, etc. are all OK.

You will start losing your appetite and you will have lots of energy as your body switches from burning carbs as energy to burning your fat as energy. Drink lots of water, and make "Bullet Proof" coffee (or tea) every day to start your day. It's coffee with a whipped creamer made of a tablespoon of butter and heavy whipping cream. Then sprinkle cinnamon on it. It's great!

You might have problem eating enough fat, but you need fat!! Eat all the veggies you want with lots of butter and spices. If you go over the 20 net carbs just do better the next day. After you lose the weight, add carbs back in slowly if you want to return to more carbs. Drink lots of water, eat all you want and add garlic and healthy oils like olive oil that work to break apart fat in your blood. (Watch the sauces and salad dressing, catsup, etc. because they all have carbs!)
