RE: How to Keep Going When You Want To Quit
Perseverance! That is the biggest thing I learned from my father who most of his life failed at everything he tried. Had to be tough on him, as I observed through a child's eyes... But he never quit no matter how difficult life was. Eventually in his latter years he found success.
When walking through hell as life dumps on my I have learned to look at the worse case scenario and the best possible outcome. If I can accept the worse case scenario and plan around it I can keep moving forward. The worse case scenery never seems to come to fruition.. Instead life tends to work out.
Great post
Thank you, r2cornell. Your approach is exceptionally appropriate and pragmatic. If we objectively look at the possibilities and accept reality, we do better. I like to think of it as an "optimistic realist" approach. Yes, we see what is happening (the realist) but we see the possibilities which are always better. It has been this way with human beings for several thousand years. Thanx for stopping by and sharing!
Thanx,, r2cornell. Sounds like your father was very wise. Yes, sometimes it just takes good ole perseverance to keep going.
I particularly like your idea of looking at both good and bad scenarios and examining the likelihood of them.
Thanx for stopping by!
