Kayi - Instructions on changing your KayiSats to KayiEth

in #kayi7 years ago (edited)

I only recently stumbled across KAYI, the project looks to be transitioning between platforms indicating that there is at the least someone still driving the project. I have little knowledge of its inner workings but thought 'Why not' and chucked in a few $$ to see what happens.

Finding the instructions provided by the Kayi ANN difficult to follow I have done my best below to make it easier to read. I do not understand the benefit of using Mercatox quoted in the original post, so I left it out.

Up front: I hold some KAYI - I have no other connection with this coin/project. As always on the internet, make sure you confirm what you are reading against the original source/instructions.

Instructions on changing your KayiSats to KayiEth

Kayicoin is changing platforms from Satoshi (KayiSats) and Waves (KayiWav) to Ethereum (KayiETH), the coin name will NOT change, it will remain KAYI. These names just make life easier for the instructions below. Since it is not a fork and is an actual change in platform it is being performed manually with equivalent KayiETH being provided for KayiSats (1:1) and KayiWav getting 1:5 ratio (1 KayiETH provided for every 5 KayiWav).

KayiETH will be provided as a token to your erc20 compliant Etherium Wallet, I recommend Meta Mask

This transition will take place until 30th April 2018, there will be no more conversion after this date.

For KayiSats holders:

To accommodate this change the 'swap' is being done via Cryptopia. This exchange allows you to send messages and balances directly between Cryptopia users, the importance of which will become apparent shortly.

You can create an account here, I will unashamedly provide my referral link, but you don't have to use it: Cryptopia

1 - Send all KayiSats to your Cryptopia account, if you do not have an account, create one as outlined above.
2 - Create an erc20 compliant Ethereum address/wallet which will be receiving your KayiETH
3 - In Cryptopia there are 2 steps needed. Transfer Funds and Send a Message

To Transfer Funds
  • Hover over the Bitcoin symbol next to your name at the top right after logging in
  • Click on 'Transfer'
  • Click the 'Select a Currency' drop down and type in Kayi to choose the correct funds
  • Click 'Next'
  • In the 'Search' box, type 'Kayi' with no quotation marks, then press 'Verify User'
  • A section will appear with Your Name and Kayi, arrows pointing between the two and a 'Balance' section
  • Click on your Kayi Balance
  • Enter your PIN
  • Click 'Next'
To Send A Message
  • Click on your username at the top right, this will take you to your Account
  • On the left of your screen click 'Messages'
  • In the middle there is a Green button called 'New', click it
  • In Recipiants put the name 'Kayi' with no quotation marks
  • In the Subject I put - 'Kayi Sats - Eth' and 'Kayi Amount'
  • In the Message I included my 'ETH Wallet Address' and 'Amount Transferred'
  • Click 'Submit'

The Transfer and Message MUST come from the same user on Cryptopia

When I did the above Kayi got back to me within a couple of hours.

For KayiWav holders:

Disclaimer: I have not done this myself, I am just attempting to make he provided instructions easier to read
1 - Create an erc20 compliant Ethereum address/wallet which will be receiving your KayiETH
2 - Send your KayiWav to 3PQdeXakGNbfcxhJXNgtqLvjHdnrf6fWrQN and in the attachment section enter your 'ETH Wallet Address' where you will expect to receive your KayiETH

The amount of KayiWav sent will be divided by 5 and the KayiETH sent to your wallet
