What do you want to do with the delegation?
Growing a new community on Steemit is a long and difficult process, grinding away at slow steady growth whilst hoping for the day it will snowball and not require your tender daily personal care. Finding like minded people helps alot, as does just getting out and finding people who share the same interest!
What is this mystery interest that is going to be the new hot topic?
Classical music! We have a fledgling community at the #classical-music tag and our growing Dischord. Classical music on steemit is very much a niche community.
There are possibly many factors that feed into this, not least of which is the fact that our audience in the real world is not in general a technologically savvy crowd. In steemit, we are dwarfed by the presence of the contemporary music.
How we see ourselves
How the regular public sees us
It's quite funny if you watch the whole thing! In the past, we have had classical music being the perceived and even sold as the domain of the educated and the elite. Thus, we lost traction with the greater public, who decided that this music just was not for them. It didn't seem fun or moving and there were weird rules of silence and disdain for those who were not 'in the know'.
Nowadays, groups are trying to rebrand themselves as sexy or hip or 'cool'. In the end, this is probably also destined to be a failure. After all, the most skillful and talented people are not necessarily the most photogenic, and the best looking are not always the best players. This, it begins to be an exercise in marketing rather than being about a good artist.
Perhaps the best way to rekindle interest in Classical music is to just show ourselves as we are. Just a group of people who are incredibly passionate about about our field of interest and work. That we want to share this joy and learning with the rest of the world and with whomever will listen to us!
A new platform like Steemit gives us the chance to try and break the ties of the stereotypes that people have of Classical music and also to break the need (via anonimity) for musicians to act a certain way in front of their peers.
As it is, we have had a couple of superstar posts from people like @tin-tin, here and @silentscreamer, here. Our little community has banded together to try and help push their posts (and by extension, our community) forward. We have done this via the usual upvote, comment and resteem, but also via a small community collection to hire a bid bot (@buildawhale) to keep one post over the 100 set mark.
Lastly, I would like to mention @remlaps who originally set up the #classical-music tag and its associated @classical-music account. It has been a great help to have a larger account around to provide support for our members!
If I was able to win a delegation, I would be using it to try and grow the #classical-music community via outreach to new members and support of our existing and incoming members. Thanks to @karensuestudios for the opportunity!

It takes a lot of work initially doesn't it. Steemit more than anywhere else I have seen rewards dedication in spades though!
I love that you have gone for classical. As a huge fan of Radiohead I love listening to classical music and thinking about how I can integrate that into my usual rock sound.
Keep up the great work and I have no doubt your community will blossom!

Thanks for the support! I had signed up for an atom collector account just to see if it would work for me and @musicapoetica. I'm travelling at the moment, so I can't check it out fully, when I get home I will investigate it further!
Excellent! Let me know if you have any questions when you return.
I always wanted an electric violin, and now they're here, even a touch-sensitive app on my phone. It started with the Ocarina, but I think learning to play music on your phone via physical interaction is the new cool talent.
I think it is a great thing to be able to play music from a touch phone! However, for me it really is too different. I need the tactile feel of the strings, I need the feedback from the instrument to know what sort of sound and colours are going to return to me!
I agree 100%. The acoustic oscillations are felt deeper from physically vibrating instruments.
Not only that, the depth of feel you get between your fingers and the instrument. The glass doesn't have the same give in it!

Hahahaha, Indeed very funny video! LOL
Isn't it, it's just a great contrast from the slightly over pompous lead up,
Just re-watched the video a couple of times, and every time he starts playing, I have a laugh for minutes. Whatever the message is, it for sure is funny as hell! hahahaha
Tomorrow, I'll make a post of shreds for you! Somehow, it's the funniest with Classical music.
