Everyone Should be Persuaded in their own Mind {-} Cracks in the Walls of the Watchtower {-} Introduction {-} Part 5
There is a 'Watchtower Society' precedent set, permitting the examination of a religious claim of Divine authority; addressing people of other faith traditions - other than the faith tradition of the Society. The second President of the Society, Joseph Franklin Rutherford, once gave some very wise advice to his followers:
“Every man should be persuaded in his own mind and no man should permit himself to be deterred from examining a question based upon the bible because a clergyman or anyone else makes the unsupported assertion that it is dangerous or unworthy of consideration. Error always seeks the dark, while truth is always enhanced by the light. Error never desires to be investigated. Light always courts a thorough and complete investigation.” ('Millions Now Living Will Never Die'; J.F. Rutherford; p. 13)
Thus, there is really nothing to fear from a "complete investigation" of the Watchtower Society, a religion that claims to be the only religion on earth today having the Truth.
Quite frankly, however, Rutherford’s advice to Catholics, Protestants, and to members of all other religions ought to apply equally to members of the Society (or to people who are thinking about becoming members).
Should you join (or remain a member) of the Society without having done a thorough investigation of it?
No, logically, of course not!
Doubts, if they crop up in your mind after you join the Society, will inevitably lead to your downfall. You need to address your doubts now, beforehand!
I am telling you all of this because I don't want what happened to me to also happen to you - or, heaven forbid, what happened to my cousin N.: Exit by suicide.
It was a deeply painful experience for me to lose my cousin and to go through the process of questioning the foundations of my own beliefs. Ultimately, I got excommunicated for it, and then I was shunned. Horrible and very sad!
You need to resolve things once and for all before you get yourself involved in the Society; because, your decision to join will have impactful consequences if you later decide to exit. Exiting the Society is not an easy process.

Thank you for your comment, but I have zero respect for the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Jehovah's Witnesses that killed my cousin, however, I do respect other peoples' informed choices and encourage them to think critically before joining a religion or deciding to stay in one. My focus is on the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses which, after much research, I conclude is a toxic religious sect - one of many.
