Funding Villa is an entity focused on the incubation of start-ups on the African continent, and the world at large. It aims to nurture start-ups until they become self-reliant, and can create their own tokens to sell for the purpose of crowdfunding, and building capital-intensive projects for their own ecosystems.

Funding Villa will be established as its own entity that is focused on incubating start-ups from various stages to a point where they will be able to create a token and raise funds by selling tokens. This will allow start-ups to raise funds before issuing equity in a company. This process has many benefits, including creating a community of stakeholders around a platform without giving up control of the vision of the start-up.

Onboarding the tokens from the start-ups immediately brings the communities from the crowdfunding into the exchange to create a model that takes users from Funding Villa and transitions them into AUTEx users with ease.

The incubator will allow start-ups from Africa and eventually the rest of the globe to apply to be a featured organization, or simply use the platform to crowdfund on their own. Establishing a digital incubator will not limit start-ups to their physical proximity, and thus Funding Villa will give much more inclusive access to the most rural start-ups that can get access to the Internet.

Funding Villa has established a partnership with Law Ethics and Practices (LEaP), which is an organization of over 200 Nigerian lawyers that work to accelerate the beneficial application of law. LEap will assist start-ups coming through the Funding Villa incubator program with legal advising in exchange for tokens and/or equity in the start-up. These agreements will be established between the lawyers and the start-ups, but Funding Villa will facilitate this working relationship using smart contracts.

Roles of LEaP would be to facilitate through its community lawyers, professional assistance to the start-ups, as regards rights and obligations, legal documentation, representation on inquiries and investigations by law enforcement agencies, advising and drafting anti-money laundering policies, among many others, as much as the facts and circumstances allow, to ensure compliance with statute-laws which may otherwise be rendered applicable, and guarantee maximum standard practice obtainable in the corporate world.

As the crowdsales for Bitland and Dokita247 establish Nigerian companies as the pilots for the protocol, other Nigerian companies can be the first wave of applicants to be incubated. After the first class of Nigerian companies has graduated to the market, the protocol can be scaled to work for pan-African start-ups as well as the rest of the globe.
