WOW! This is the first time I have read about the boys and girls festivals in Japan. If a family has a boy and a girl, the family must celebrate twice with different streamers!

That's right. If s family has boys and girls,a family have to do both events on March 3rd and May 5th. It is to pray for the happiness of the child. Thank you for your comment.
