Beat My Personal Best Again <2019 UNICEF Cup Kobe Valentine Love Run>　再び自己ベスト更新<2019ユニセフカップ神戸バレンタイン・ラブラン>

Today is the day of “2019 UNICEF Cup Kobe Valentine Love Run”.
今日は2019ユニセフカップ神戸バレンタイン・ラブランです。

As its name “UNICEF Cup” suggests, a part of our entry fee is contributed to UNICEF(United Nations Children’s Fund) for supporting activities of UNICEF. The race is held in Port Island, which I live in, so I have entered this race every year since I moved here. Last year I couldn’t do well in this race, because I caught a cold just before the race. In contrast, this year I’m in very good shape. I intended to avenge my defeat at the last year’s race.
「ユニセフカップ」という名前のとおり、ユニセフ（国連児童基金）の活動をサポートするために、参加料の一部がユニセフに寄付されます。僕の住んでいるポートアイランドで開催されるので、ここに引っ越してきて以来、毎年出走しています。去年はレース直前に風邪を引いてしまったため、いい結果を出せませんでした。それに比べて今年はとても体調がいいので、去年のレースでの雪辱を果たすつもりです。

The reception started at 8:30 in No.3 building of Kobe International Convention.
神戸国際展示場3号館で8時半から受付が開始されました。

We received our number bib and measuring chip at the reception desk in the building. Also this year, in the reception room, a car made by Mazda Motar Coorporation, which co-sponsors the race, was on exhibit.
館内の受付でゼッケンと計測チップを受け取りました。今年も、受付会場には協賛のマツダの自動車が展示されていました。

And we received our participation prize out of the building. The participation prize is an original T-shirt and a flower of orchid for male, chocolates for female as usual. The color of the original T-shirt is black. As in the past the color was red every year, every one was surprised at that.
参加賞は3号館の外での受け取りです。参加賞は例年通り、オリジナルＴシャツと、男性は蘭の花、女性はチョコレートです。オリジナルＴシャツの色は黒です。これまでは毎年、赤だったので、みんな驚いていました。

After that, I once returned my home because my home is very near. At my home, I checked my number bib and participation prize.
その後、僕は家がすぐ近くなので、いったん帰宅します。自宅でゼッケンと参加賞をチェックしました。

And I pined my number bib on this T-shirt which I got as the participation prize just now, and placed my measuring chip on my shoes.
そして、いまさっき参加賞としてもらったこのＴシャツにゼッケンをつけ、計測チップをシューズに装着します。

I left my home again to go to Citizen Square, which was the gathering spot for runners. We got in lines there before 10:00.
再び自宅を出て、ランナー集合場所の市民広場へ行きました。10時前にみんな集合して整列。

After gathering, we moved to the starting spot. We had to wait the starting time. It was very cold.
集合後、スタート地点へ移動。スタート時間まで待たないといけません。これが寒い。

At 10:30, the gun fired to signal a start of the race.
10時半、号砲が鳴ってレースが始まりました。

I ran at faster pace than 4’00”/km in the beginning and managed to keep the pace of about 4’00”/km after the middle stage of the race. Throughout the race, the wind was very strong and cold. Especially, at Surf-Sound Park, which is located along the coast, the terrible headwind forced me to decrease the pace markedly.
序盤はキロ3分台のペースで走り、中盤以降もキロ4分前後のペースをなんとか維持できました。レースのあいだはずっと、風が強くて寒かったです。特に、海沿いの「しおさい公園」では向い風がひどくて顕著にペースが落ちました。

Eventually, I managed to finish the race in 1:23’07”(goss time). (The net time was 1:23’04”.) And the rank was 64th of 1989 runners. I beat my personal best by 1 minute and 36 seconds. I improved my personal best for two consecutive months.
最終的には、1時間23分07秒（グロスタイム）でゴールできました（ネットタイムは1時間23分04秒）。順位は1989人中64位でした。自己ベストを1分36秒更新できました。2ヶ月連続の自己ベスト更新です。

After the race, the awards ceremony was held.
レース後、表彰式が開催されました。

He is the champion of the men’s half marathon. Congratulations for him ! His time was 1:08’40”. Fast !!
彼が男子ハーフマラソンの優勝者です。おめでとうございます。彼のタイムは1時間08分40秒です。速い！

In this race, Nippon Meat Packers, Inc. ( Nippon Ham) set up the charity food shops, the part of the sales is contributed to UNICEF. This year, Nippon Ham served “recommended dishes after races” for only 300 yen. I ate the set of curried rice with chicken and egg soup. It was delicious and warmed my body.
このレースでは、特別協賛の日本ハムが「チャリティーフードショップ」を設けていて、売上の一部がユニセフに寄付されるようになっています。今年の日本ハムは「レース後のおすすめメニュー」をたった300円で提供してくれました。僕は「カレーライス（サラダチキン添え）とたまごスープのセット」をいただきました。おいしくて、体が温まりました。

As I finished today’s race, I have only one race left in this season. The last race of this season is Sasayama ABC Marathon (full marathon) on 3rd March. I’d like to keep on being in good shape for 3 weeks until the race.
今日のレースが終わって、今シーズンのレースは残すところあとひとつのみとなりました。最後のレースは来月3日の篠山ABCマラソン（フル）です。レースまでの3週間、好調を維持したいと思います。
