This is A5 beef. The highest grade beef you can buy in Japan. It's called "Wagyu" and this particular kind is sliced thin for use in sukiyaki(sweet saute) or shabu shabu(boiling).

It is very expensive. That plate alone will cost you more than an entire meal at other restaurants. However, this plate is meant to be shared by two people though, so that may offset the cost a bit. Itadakimasu!
