American Day: Carburator

Oggi voglio partecipare al conrest per la categoria #vehiclephotography. Ho scelto questo scatto che ho realizzato durante l'American Day che si svolge a Vanzago (MI) un padio di volte all'anno. In questo caso è l'edizione del 2016.
Questa manifestazione/raduno è dedicato essenzialmente a veicoli americani, per la maggior parte motociclette Harley Davidson, ma vede la presenza anche di auto, pickup, hotrod, truck ed altri veicoli disposti sul piazzale.
Mentre giravo osservando ciò che era in mostra, ho voluto soffermarmi sui particolari, cercando inquadrature e dettagli meno comuni. Siccome ero sicuro di non avere spazio operativo, sia per il la vicinanza tra un veicolo e l'altro, sia per l'affluenza di pubblico, ho deciso di montare un'ottica compatta: EF-S 24 f2.8 pancake. Essendo un obiettivo abbastanza corto, mi sono trovato bene a scattare vicino al soggetto.
In questo scatto potete vedere il dettaglio di un carburatore, elemento che sulle moderne auto ad iniezione elettronica/diretta è andato a sparire. Ho ritoccato la foto per dare un effetto un pò lomografico, con contrasto elevato e colori poco saturi, che ben si adatta al richiamo "garage" che volevo dare all'immagine.

Today I want to partecipate to the contest about #vehiclephotography. I choose this photo I shoot during the American Day in Vanzago (MI - Italy), event that take place twice a year. This one was the 2016 edition.
This event is about american vehicles, mainly Harley Davidson motorcycles, but you can find also cars, pickups, trucks, and others kind of vehicles.
Walking and looking around, I was looking for details and particular features trying to capture unusual points of views. Due to the massive presence of people and the lack o space between the vehicles, I was sure there it could be difficult to find enough space to shoot photos. So I decided to use a compact lens: EF-S 24 f2.8 pancake. With this short and compact lens I had the possibility to get closer to the subject with my camera.
In this photograph you can see the close-up of a carburator, a mechanical element that is no longer present on the modern cars with electronic/direct injection. I retouched the image to give a LoMo effect with high contrast and desaturated colours, trying to give a "garag mood" to the scene.
