Serie Tv: una passione / Tv series: a passion (ITA/ENG)

Chi non ama le serie TV? Personalmente le adoro, rigorosamente in lingua originale perché trovo fastidioso il labiale sfasato e che con l'audio modificato non si sentano i rumori di sottofondo, per non parlare delle stesse voci tutte uguali: un disastro insomma.
Alcune le considero una droga, poco tempo fà ero in grado di "mangiarmene" dieci puntate al giorno senza sosta, ultimamente sto rinsavendo e non lo faccio più, ne guardo una o due puntate al massimo e mi fermo, ho notato che me le godo anche di più.
Tutto iniziò quando mio fratello nel 2004 mi suggerì di guardare "Lost": la storia dei passeggeri di un'aereo che si schianta su un isola sperduta e nessuno è in grado di ritrovarli; affascinante, intrigante, mistico, fantascientifico, senza senso, ma bellissimo..fino alla fine che, non ho apprezzato, appunto, perché non ha senso, ed io stolto che mi aspettavo che il buon J.J. Abrams & C. dessero un senso a tutto quel casino durato sei anni.

Dopo "Lost" ne ho viste parecchie, è diventata quasi un'ossessione, se non cento poco ci manca, ma che mi siano piaciute tutte dall'inizio alla fine, poche; elencherò le mie dieci preferite con un breve riassunto, cercando di spoilerare il meno possibile, metto solo quelle finite perché, se non concluse, non sono in grado di dare un giudizio.

• I Soprano (HBO - 6 stagioni ): Il mondo del boss mafioso "James Gandolfini" noto nella serie come "Tony Soprano" , tutta la serie gira intorno a lui.
  La sua la famiglia (sia quella reale con moglie e figli, che quella dei suoi presunti amici considerati appunto come "famiglia"), le sue incertezze, i suoi scleri, il suo carattere rude ma a tratti anche troppo gentile, le sue ossessioni, la sua psicologa e la paura di essere scoperto dai suoi sudditi che ci vada, perché potrebbe mostrar loro la sua insicurezza ed essere preso per pazzo rischiando davvero grosso.
  Davvero ben fatta, cast di alta scuola e con un'interpretazione del protagonista, davvero sopra le righe.

• OZ (HBO - 6 stagioni): Ambientato in una prigione sperimentale chiamato " Il Paradiso", che racchiude ogni sorta di stereotipo del prigioniero.
  Ariani, Siciliani, Afroamericani detti "Zombi", Centauri, Omosessuali, Cattolici, Latinos, Irlandesi, Musulmani e gli altri ( coloro che non appartengono a nessuna gang). Sicuramente non per i deboli di cuore, omicidi come se piovesse, vendette, spaccio, armi, stupri e tanto altro.
  Una serie TV davvero cruda e spietata; con una moltitudine di personaggi diversi e nessun vero protagonista.

• Carnivale (HBO - 2 stagioni): Una compagnia circense degli anni trenta si imbatte in un fuggiasco, il protagonista "Nick Stahl" noto nella serie come "Benjamin Hawkins", che possiede un dono davvero unico e si unirà a loro, anche se con non poche difficoltà.
  L'allegria non fà davvero parte di questa serie, girata praticamente sempre nel deserto in villaggi davvero lugubri.
  Misticismo, sogni profetici ed un antagonista davvero unico ,"Clancy Brown" noto nella serie come "Padre Justin"; semplicemente terrificante.

• Dexter (Showtime - 8 stagioni): Si potrebbe descrivere semplicemente come il killler dei serial killer.
  Un inizio scoppiettante con una prima serie tratta da un libro, superlativa, purtroppo col passare delle stagioni perde tanto e diventa banale e ripetitiva, davvero un peccato. Il finale mi ha lasciato a bocca asciutta.
  Davvero ben fatti i monologhi che il protagonista, "Michael C. Hall" noto nella serie come "Dexter", mentre ragiona fra sé e sé, vedendo il fantasma del padre che gli dà consigli su come mascherarsi nella società per non fare scoprire i suoi più oscuri segreti.
  Quasi preoccupante come la serie riesce quasi a farti stare simpatico un assassino.

• Spartacus (Starz - 3 stagioni + Prequel): Come intuibile dal nome, narra le gesta di Spartaco, schiavo e gladiatore ai tempi di Roma, che cerca di conquistare la libertà combattendo nelle arene.
  Storico di nome ma non di fatto, parecchio romanzato e molto simile ad un fumetto in stile film "300".
  Battaglie nelle arene e slow-motion davvero spettacolari; gli effetti speciali sono il punto forte della serie, spettacolare, soprattutto la prima serie e il prequel (trasmesso dopo la prima serie in attesa che il protagonista "Andy Whitfield" si riprendesse dal "linfoma non Hodgkin" che purtroppo dopo diciotto mesi di lotta l'ha portato al decesso; venne poi sostituito da un altro attore per il ruolo di Spartaco ma, secondo me, non all'altezza dell'originale).

• Battlestar Galctica (Sky 1 UK + Sci-Fi Channel - 4 stagioni ): Fantascienza pura.
  Le avventure della flotta coloniale del "Galactica", una navicella spaziale militare, che vaga nell'universo in cerca di un mondo vivibile dopo che le dodici colonie sono state distrutte.
  Molti personaggi fanno parte di questa serie, non c'è un protagonista assoluto, la storia è molto intrigante, soprattutto quando si viene a scoprire che nella nave ci sono dei "Cyloni" infiltrati (Cyborg con sembianze di persone normali che vogliono la morte del genere umano).
  Serie davvero unica e davvero bella dall'inizio alla fine, che ho trovato spettacolare!
  Ne esistono due versioni, una degli anni 80 e una del 2004, io ho visto soltanto la seconda.

• Misfits (E4 - 5 stagioni): E se dei disadattati, costretti ai servizi sociali, dopo essere stati colpiti da un fulmine, scoprissero di essere in possesso di superpoteri?
  La trama è tutta qui, una serie di vicissitudini assurde, esilaranti e a tratti tocanti.
  Persone normali senza le ambizioni dei soliti supereroi di usare i superpoteri per salvare l'umanità, ma soltanto di usarli per scopi personali e a loro piacimento, anche se non tutti i personaggi hanno le stesse idee a riguardo..
  Le prime stagioni meritano parecchio, poi pian piano si cade, a volte, nel ridicolo senza una trama ben definita.

• Roma (HBO - 2 stagioni): Una delle serie TV più costose della storia, ambientazione e costumi impeccabili.
  Una ricostruzione storica vera e propria degna di un documentario, un pò romanzata ma d'altronde per renderla più appetibile al pubblico è stata un soluzione davvero azzeccata.
  Ambientata a Roma nella metà del primo secolo a.c. quando Roma sta morendo ed è scossa dalle guerre civili.
  Due stagioni davvero fantastiche.

• Sons of Anarchy (FX - 7 stagioni): La storia di un gruppo di centauri di cui il protagonista, "Charlie Hunnam" noto nella serie come "Jax Teller" è l'unico anarchico, vorrebbe cambiare il funzionamento del sistema al loro interno, senza però trovare vita facile.
  Molto cruda, a tratti la narrazione è lenta ma ben dettagliata; intrighi, tradimenti, omicidi, smercio di droga ed armi.
  Tutte le stagioni sono sullo stesso ottimo livello.

• Bullet in the face (IFC - 1 stagione): Per ultima ho tenuto una chicca.
  Serie Tv senza alcun senso, ed è proprio questo il bello, fantascienza ma anche di più.
  Il killer sociopatico "Max Williams" noto nella serie come"Gunter Vogler" vi saprà sorprendere per follia e genialità, reclutato nelle forze di polizia darà il meglio di sé per vendicarsi dopo essere stato tradito dalla sua compagna.
  Fantastico perchè veramente folle dall'inizio alla fine.

Who does not love TV series? I personally love them, strictly in the original language, because I find the annoying labial out of face and that with the modified audio I can't hear background sounds, to don't speak about the same equal voices: a disaster in short.
Some of them consider like a drug, a while ago I was able to "eat" ten episodes a day uninterruptedly, lately I do not do it anymore, I look one or two episodes at most and I stop, I noticed I enjoy them even more.
It all started when my brother in 2004 suggested me to look at "Lost": the story of passengers on a plane crashing into an island and no one is able to find them; fascinating, intriguing, mystical, science-fiction, meaningless, but beautiful ... till the end that, I didn't really appreciated, because it makes no sense, and I foolishly expected that the good J.J. Abrams & C. made a sense of all that mess during six years.

After "Lost" I have seen many, it has become almost an obsession, I've seen not hundred but almost , but that I liked from the beginning to endjust few; I will list my ten favorites with a brief summary, trying to spoil as little as possible, only the concluded ones because, if they are not finished, I can not judge.

• The Sopranos (HBO - 6 seasons): The world of the mafia boss "James Gandolfini" aka "Tony Soprano" in the series, the whole series runs around him.
  His family (the real one with his wife and children and that of his alleged friends regarded as a "family"), his uncertainties, his madness, his rough but sometimes too kind character, his obsessions, his psychologist and the fear of being discovered by his subjects because he might show its insecurity and be caught mad by risking really big.
  Really well done, high school cast and with an interpretation of the leading actor really over the lines.

• OZ (HBO - 6 seasons): Set in an experimental prison called "Emerald City", which encloses every kind of stereotype of the prisoner.
  Arians, Sicilians, African Americans called "Zombie", Bikers, Homosexuals, Catholics, Latinos, Irish, Muslims and the others (those who do not belong to any gang). Surely not for the weak in heart, murder like if it rains, vengeances, drug sells, weapons, rapes, and so on.
  A really crude and ruthless TV series; with a multitude of different characters and no one real leading actor.

• Carnivale (HBO - 2 seasons): A circus company of the 1930s meets in a fugitive, the leading actor "Nick Stahl" aka "Benjamin Hawkins" in the series, who has a truly unique gift and will join them, even if not without a few difficulties.
  Fun does not really make part of this series, practically always in the desert in truly gloomy villages. Mysticism, prophetic dreams and a truly unique antagonist, "Clancy Brown" aka "Father Justin" in the series; simply terrifying.

• Dexter (Showtime - 8 Seasons): You could just describe it as the serial killer killer.
  A scintilating start with a first series taken from a book, unfortunately, with the passing of seasons, loses so much and becomes trivial and repetitive, really a shame. The final left me dry mouth.
  Really well-made monologues, the leading actor, "Michael C. Hall" aka "Dexter" in the series, while arguing between himself and himself, seeing his father's ghost giving advice on how to disguise himself in society so as not to uncover his obscure secrets.
  Almost as worrying as the series makes you feel you almost be nice a killer.

• Spartacus (Starz - 3 seasons + Prequel): As perceivable by the name, it tells the story of Spartacus, a slave and gladiator in Rome, who seeks to conquer freedom by fighting in the arenas.
  Historically named but not in fact, a lot of fiction and very similar to a comic book and movie style like "300".
  Battle in the arenas and slow-motion really spectacular; special effects are the top of the series, spectacular, especially the first series and the prequel (transmitted after the first series waiting for the leading actor "Andy Whitfield" to recover from "Hodgkin lymphoma" which unfortunately after eighteen months of struggle it led to death, then replaced by another actor for the role of Spartacus but, in my opinion, not worthy like the original).

• Battlestar Galctica (Sky 1 UK + Sci-Fi Channel - 4 seasons): Pure science fiction.
  The adventures of the colonial fleet of Galactica, a military spacecraft wandering in the universe for a living world after the twelve colonies have been destroyed.
  Many characters are part of this series, there is no absolute protagonist, the story is very intriguing, especially when it comes to discovering that there are "Cylons" infiltrated in the ship (Cyborg with the likes of normal people who want the death of mankind).
  Very unique and really beautiful series from start to finish, which I found spectacular!
  There are two versions, one of the 80's and one of 2004's, I've only seen the second one.

• Misfits (E4 - 5 seasons): And if the misfits, forced to social services, after being struck by a lightning strike, and discovered that they were in possession of super powers?
  The story is all here, a series of absurd, hilarious, and sometimes touching vicissitudes.
  Normal people without the ambitions of the usual superheroes to use superpowers to save humanity, but only to use them for personal purposes and to their liking, though not all characters have the same ideas about it.
  The first seasons deserve a lot, then slowly falls, sometimes, in ridicule without a well-defined story.

• Rome (HBO - 2 seasons): One of the most expensive TV series in the history, setting and impeccable costumes.
  A true historical reconstruction worthy of a documentary, a little fiction, but to make it more appealing to the public, was a realistic solution.
  Set in Rome in the middle of the first century a.c. when Rome is dying and is shocked by civil wars.
  Two really cool seasons.

• Sons of Anarchy (FX - 7 seasons): The story of a group of Bikers whose "Charlie Hunnam"aka "Jax Teller" in the series, is the only anarchist, would like to change the functioning of the system inside, without finding a life easy.
  Very raw, at times the narrative is slow but detailed; intrigue, betrayal, murder, drug and arms sales.
  All seasons are on the same great level.

• Bullet in the face (IFC - 1 season): Lastly I kept a little pussy.
  TV Series without any sense, and this is just great, science fiction but also more.
  "Max Williams" aka "Gunter Vogler"in the series, sociopathic killer will surprise you with madness and genius, recruited into the police force to give the best of revenge after being betrayed by his companion.
  Fantastic because it really crazy from start to finish.
