LCVP with U.S. infantry - PART 2 (ITA/ENG)
We continue the realization of the LCVP with U.S. infantry of Italeri. Today we finish the part related to the bridge.

| Add the right side, the one with the pulley of the front door. The black thread gives a nuisance that I will not tell you since it must always remain far from the glue and find it around making you uncomfortable. Notice how the crank that operated the tailgate ends right on the rear control bridge. This was a serious discomfort during the war because sometimes it happened that the members of the rear of command died before even operating the front landing door and then the troops were forced to jump off the sides of the vehicle. They never solve this problem, maybe it was enough to use a double command (one front and one rear) to avoid these types of problems that, unfortunately, happened. | Aggiungiamo la sponda destra, quella con la carrucola del portellone anteriore. Il filo nero da un fastidio che non vi dico poichรฉ deve rimanere sempre lontano dalla colla e ritrovarselo in giro crea disagio. Notate come la manovella che azionava il portellone anteriore finisce proprio sul ponte di comando posteriore. Questo fu un grave disagio durante la guerra poichรฉ a volte succedeva che i membri della parte posteriore di comando morivano prima ancora di azionare il portellone anteriore da sbarco e quindi le truppe erano costrette a buttarsi dai lati del mezzo. Non risolvettero mai questo problema, magari bastava utilizzare un doppio comando (uno anteriore e uno posteriore) per evitare questi tipi di problemi che, purtroppo, capitavano. |
