My top 4 picks for 2018 Q1

in #investments7 years ago

In 2018 perhaps we’ll see the bursting of bubbles; especially with clones, useless altcoins, forks, and most tokens (of course this is just my speculation). Nevertheless, I think that Bitcoin, “useful” altcoins, and a few tokens still have great futures (even with the dumps currently happening, which I expect to pass in the next few days). Here are my top 4 that I think are undervalued in the long run, just note that I’m not including the “big” coins (BTC, ETH, LTC, XMR, ect).

CLOAK

Website: https://www.cloakcoin.com
Whitepaper: https://www.cloakcoin.com/resources/CloakCoin_ENIGMA_Whitepaper_v1.0.pdf

Cloak has recently been in the news because it became open source. Cloak uses Enigma, which is basically a built in mixer allowing for anonymous transactions. Enigma is optional, so Cloak can offer anonymity to those who want it without forcing everyone to pay high transaction fees.

I expect Cloak to rise slowly over the next 6-9 months.

Pivx

Website: https://www.pivx.org/
Whitepaper: https://pivx.org/what-is-pivx/white-papers/

Pivx is basically DASH, except with PoS instead of PoW and no instamine. Similar to how LTC, DASH, XMR, and ETH had a rise from single digits to double and triple digits in the past year I expect Pivx will probably get a big break at some point in the next year.

Binance Coin

Website: https://www.binance.com/

Binance is an exchange that I found out about recently, and it has been growing in popularity very quickly. Using their own coin you can get a heavy discount with your trade fees, so I expect it to grow in value as Binance grows in size.

Neo

Website: https://neo.org/
Whitepaper: http://docs.neo.org/en-us/sc/white-paper.html

Often referred to as the “Chinese Ethereum” Neo offers a smart contract platform similar to Ethereum (and thus directly competing with it). It has already grown a lot, however it seems to have stabilized and I’m expecting it to grow more steadily from here on out.

Nice choices. How about DAG based coins? Some are growing in popularity currently.

I'm really not all that familiar with DAG based coins or how they will perform. Not that I don't think they'll do well, but I really don't think I could predict how they'll do. Here I just picked 4 coins that I have invested in during the past and have seen enough of their performance to make an educated guess.
