What kills 80% of small businesses within the first 18 months? The answer is a lack of being able to keep up with expenses while the business finds its feet. We obviously want to avoid this fate for The Steem House, so we're looking for a silent partner/angel investor that could help us ensure the success of this endeavor.

We feel we have proven that our idea is a valuable one, raising nearly 2000 STEEM in the last month and a half or so, from nearly 40 investors, who will all share in a portion of the liquid earnings of our blog. The money we have raised in that fund will go a long way toward buying the tools and equipment we need to get started. The biggest thing that has been holding us back is the fear of signing a lease, only to get behind on rent after the first month or two. The funds we have raised so far would allow us to open a space, but wouldn't give us much more room in the budget to fill it out, no less keep the rent covered while we start building revenue streams.

What we're looking for here is significantly larger than that fund, but would be just a drop or two in a whale's bucket...

So, we're looking for an angel investor (an Angel Whale), to partner with us!

We're looking for funds to pay for a two year lease. This will cost around $1500 per month (the average rent for spaces we are looking at), so we're looking for about $36,000 (currently around 20,000 STEEM) to cover 24 months rent at $1500. Even if a building owner is asking a little more, we may be able to talk them into "the right price" by having the funds up front.

This two year time frame will be plenty enough to establish a strong foundation for our business, and secure a loyal customer base, without having the single largest expense for a startup (rent) hanging over our heads. You put forth the money to pay the lease, and we'll run the makerspace, sending your weekly or monthly cut in any way we agree!

We are by no means looking for hand-outs here. Quite the contrary. We are looking for someone generous enough to allow us to create a job for ourselves, and for others, not just within our local community, but on the blockchain as well! Of course, we would never expect anyone to just hand over money out of the kindness of their heart. This investor will be kept in the center of the loop, staying as up to date on new details as we are, and we will work stupidly hard to make sure this Angel Whale's support never goes to waste. We truly believe that if we could start this business essentially rent free for the first two years, it will be easy to keep it open for another twenty and beyond!

This Angel Whale would be entitled to a 33% portion of ALL profits that go to us as owners.

This includes, but is not limited to a portion of all;

• Steemit blog revenues (including any power down payments)
• Monthly membership dues
• Workshop/Class tickets
• Material profits
