Thinking of your concept of unintended consequences, I think investors will soon look at US only Companies to shield from the trade war but given the globalized economy, they are tougher to filter through.

That becomes the smart response. Example: watched a segment on CNBC talking about Dogs of the Dow. A pick they made was Verizon - no China exposure. A few other commentators were making the same choice.
