My Introduction

WP_20150113_004.jpgHi... This is my introduction post to let you all get to know me here on Steemit. First of all, I'm a disabled veteran of two combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm also a tiny house builder and enthusiast who built a tiny house while still in the Army in El Paso, TX. 223013_685039781511542_1915514760_n.jpg 527116_625512827464238_1629556908_n.jpg 552478_588254461190075_481837096_n.jpg Since then, I had moved the tiny house to Tennessee where it sits on a hilltop property. 533609_685039491511571_1080389742_n.jpg (Hooked up and ready to go! Buy 'Hell-Paso'! I'm Tennessee bound!) 1512455_823245411024311_691441765_n.jpg (After arriving Tennessee, it was a beautiful trip through the backwoods to our property!) 15418_931487086866809_5209810031940778768_n.jpg (After arriving to our property, we had contracted a guy with a bulldozer to pull the heavy tiny house up the rough uphill drive to the top of the hill where the tiny house sits today!) 20181029_162644.jpg (A view of the tiny house as she sits on top of our hilltop) 18057629_1753763814639128_1549754943173867960_n.jpg (Some views of our hilltop) 18058157_1753763761305800_1535261453677690123_n.jpg 18193816_1753763751305801_7412183119671662767_n.jpg 18193983_1753763854639124_4120650585818242077_n.jpg After getting the tiny house set up on our hilltop property, adding the deck and other land improvements, it was time to get the inside done! Because of my disabilities, it literally took me an additional TWO YEARS to complete the interior of the tiny house! But, here are the photos of my finished interior of our tiny house: 20170902_141429-EFFECTS.jpg (The Loft) 20170902_141453.jpg (Some loft storage) FB_IMG_1514159222602.jpg (My daughter showing off the kitchen) Shower bump-out1.jpg (The 48 inch walk-in shower - created in the "bump-out" in the rear of the tiny house) New Hotwater Heater2.jpg (Shower works great! And, yes!.. that is natural slate tiling you see in this shower!) Tiny House88.jpg (Interior ceiling detail) The following photos are the bathroom detail: New Hotwater Heater1.jpg (Tankless hot water heater) Tiny House90.jpg (Compost toilet with shelving to the left of it) Tiny House92.jpg (Small vanity sink with additional shelving to the right of it below the hot water heater "closet") (Another detailed photo of the shower) Now, I will show you photos of the kitchen detail: Tiny House93.jpg (Looking at the fold up dining table from the living area) Tiny House94.jpg The kitchen sink with 8 foot countertop space with refurbished used cabinets below - I had hand made the framing for this!) Tiny House96.jpg (Looking at additional storage space at the end of the countertop area - the drawer storage was a chest of drawers purchased from Ikea and I had built it into this space) Tiny House97.jpg (Another look at the kitchen from the living area - which also shows the ventless propane gas heater I've installed here in the living room space under the t.v.) Tiny House104.jpg (A view looking out the kitchen into the living area) Tiny House107.jpg (Another detail photo of the sink and countertop area - very spacious!) Tiny House108.jpg (Our lovely fold-down dining area) Tiny House109.jpg (Another, COZY view of our dining area) The following are photos of our living area detail: Tiny House95.jpg (The shelving area you see here in the living area was where I had planned to build a built-in seating area; but, when with shelving instead... I like it!) WP_20170227_014.jpg (Another view of the living room ceiling) ...and my favorite part of the living room ceiling is the "antique" candle chandelier! Yes, it does NOT run on electric - just candle light!... WP_20170227_016.jpg In the future, I will be blogging about my solar and wind power setup since we are completely off grid here on our Tennessee property! It's very beautiful out here on our hilltop and we would not have it any other way! Hope you had enjoyed this introductory post of mine and my photos of my tiny house I've built. It has been a long process to build this house because of my disabilities; but, I'm very pleased with the outcome of the tiny house project. Please follow me, and upvote me to support my projects yet to come! I've also a dome shelter, AND a underground shelter with lots of food preps storage to blog about in the near future! Stay tuned for MORE TINYHOUSECRYPTOS adventures! Thanks for viewing!

This is really a cool project! That's quite the piece of hilltop property that you have. I look forward to seeing more of your posts.

Thank you very much!26330_607837589231762_970575001_n.jpg

What a great house. I lurk on you tube looking at these tiny places and I love the idea. I was also fortunate to spend some time in Tennessee near Murfreesboro and you sure picked a beautiful spot to land with great people.

I know we have one or more veteran's groups here on steem and I know they would be glad to have you join them. Use and search the veteran/veterans tags, and I'm sure they will welcome you.

And thank you so much for your delegation to my blog, @tinyhousecryptos. I try hard here and leasing sp is one of my strategies. I do not know why you would do this while so new, but I am very grateful.

Finally, I write minnow tips here and you can find the latest on any of my posts aside from share2steem. I will gladly help you if you ever have any questions, so never hesitate to ask :)

Best of luck on your steem journey. I love it here and find it the best place I have ever worked online.

Thanks for your kind replyTiny House99.jpg

Nice house and property! I'm curious, did the land already come with a water well or did you have one drilled? Or do you get your water through other means?

We have "city" water for now. No electric supplied, just my solar setup which works great! We did tried to have a driller drill for water; but, it was a waste of money... didn't hit water!! 10934138_1029396020409248_5979547758316181625_o.jpg

Well that sucks! How deep did they go?

Posted using Partiko iOS

I think only about 100 feet before hitting shale rock, which was against Tennessee code to break through because of methane gas being below it.

Oh, that's a shame. My dad had to have his well redrilled a couple years ago because of the drought. I think it was originally around 150ft deep and they had to go to 300ft, maybe 350ft to hit water again. Thankfully we are out of the drought now so it shouldn't be an issue for a long time 😅

Welcome to Steem! You have an amazing talent! To not only build something cozy and functional but to have it be so lovely is truly a gift. The images of your home from the hilltop look so peaceful and it must feel wonderful to wake up in the morning inside a home you've built. There are so many elements that I could fawn over inside your house but my favorite is your kitchen. <3 There are many tiny home enthusiasts on our platform who will love to read more of your projects and I hope that should you have any questions, you'll feel free to ask.
