Hi there...This could not have been a better way to introduce myself but currently it is how i feel..I am Wesley from Nigeria and this is my story.

ASHES AND BONES

I revert to my notepad in a bid to clear my head of the incomprehensible footages I just feasted on.
Right on my blank sheets all I see is white.
White garments that adorn the corpses of men set to be returned to the earth.

I see my little baby girl. I thought she would not come back home today. She did!
She came back only on this sheet.
Her sweet-bitter memories fill my head.
She is here now - maybe not for my last words but for my sheets to be adorned with her name in tears.

I don't think I can bear this anymore.
I close my 3 years 15 days old notepad - now filled with salty water my tiny eyes birthed.
I can't take this all. I'm kinda hallucinating.
Maybe not now because all I see right at the cover of my notepad is him.
Holding hands with the notelord.
It was our pre-wedding photos.
It's been three years now and this is the first time he his yet to be home before 12.
Or has he gone for the vigil ?

Oh he can't!
Baba security won't be in church today.
Maybe tomorrow or next.
'cos today took him for a ride without his consent, I hope he returns soon.

As 'soon' as I see ashes and bones no more..

In memory of the lives lost in the Otedola Fire accident.

    3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
    4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
