This is My First Post! Quickly Discover, Who, What and Why

Hello Steemit!

My name is Wayne Foster from Shropshire, ENG. I enjoy photography, nature, life and meeting people.

I’m really chuffed to be a member of the Steemit community and discovering new blogs and new virtual people! If you know what I mean?

I’m now in my early 50’s and wondering if I’m too old for this platform, I hope not as I would love to contribute interesting articles for all to read. I have just began my own photography blog and although still in its infancy has some informative articles, well in my opinion anyway ;)

This however does not mean that I will solely be blogging about photography, there’s so much to life to be narrow minded. Maybe I will blog about my resent trip to India. I also like to find topics that interest me and explore them more to increase my understanding so perhaps I will do just that.

If we take the outlook of Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates then that might sum up my posts, let’s just say life in general.

After School I joined the Royal Navy and achieved top marks during my training, these where the best days of my life, visiting new places and meeting some great people and making friends for life.

Now I have just started a new job in the health industry and low and behold five shifts in myself and others have been told we are at risk of redundancy Great! We will find out next month.

So why am I here?

I stumbled across a video on YouTube by @brianturner where he interviewed @aggroed, he spoke about Steemit and its community, he spoke in a language that I liked and also with great passion and an intent to grow the community.

I then found a few videos by @jerrybanfield who spoke in a different style about Steemit, but both of them spoke with passion, excitement about the prospects of Steemit and a willingness to drive and grow the Steemit community.

I now follow them as I'm eager to learn more.

They sold it to me and here I am hoping to contribute some interesting and informative blog post.

As a silver surfer I don’t use Facebook really, I joined it about five years ago just to keep in contact with family and friends when we moved to France, but since we have moved back I hardly look at it. I think its overrated anyway!

As for YouTube, I was thinking of making some videos about photography and making a little money from them, just enough to put fuel in the car and get to some interesting sites to photograph and explain my thoughts and setting to hopefully encourage people to pick up a camera and get out into the great outdoors.

Even if someone with limited mobility found inspiration from them and started photographing flowers on their table at home that would be fantastic or photographing items to sell on eBay.

But YouTube changed their rules for earning a little extra income; they seem to favour full timers who can churn out videos each day, perhaps they think people who work and don’t make videos on a daily basis have anything of interest to offer! How very wrong! So Sod them!

Steemit looks to reward people for their content and grow a interacting community and this is what appeals to me, hence why I made the decision to become part of Steemit and recognise and follow other people who share my interests.

I hope this introductory is enough for you to learn a little about me and I hope you would consider following me on my journey. Thanks to my new mate @spencercoffman for the intro advise.
