Thanks for reading.

It was terrifying growing up in England. Children had absolutely no rights in the UK at the time. In fact, it's still legal to beat your child in Britain as long as you hide the marks: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4175905.stm

Also, until 1992, it was legal to rape your wife in the UK.

The British have a long tradition of extreme violence. But, as the 'British Empire', they got to write the history books. The British colonialist mass-genocide and concentration camps was just one episode in the country's litany of obscene anger. Hidden behind a veneer of 'manners' and 'politeness', the British were essentially no better than the Nazis, with the difference that the British won their wars, so got to rewrite what happened: http://listverse.com/2014/02/04/10-evil-crimes-of-the-british-empire/

It's only now that anyone feels safe speaking out about it. A known child rapist, Edward Heath, used to be Prime Minister. And another famous Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, was enabling politicians she knew were raping children.

Many of the UK's most famous politicians and celebrities were raping children. It's been a British tradition for centuries, but few people want to discuss it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_sexual_abuse_in_the_United_Kingdom

There are politicians still in power who abuse children. And the government has 'lost' the information on who they are.

My story was not atypical of a kid growing up in England. If you've ever wondered why the British have a strange relationship with sex; the answer is becoming clearer to everyone.

I want to cry :( how is this possible? I do hope there are movements to go against this horrible I-dont-know-what-to-call-this. I am terrified

This is the movement against it :)

Awareness, and speaking out in public.

Things are changing.
