How you got introduced to steemit?

Its been everything new to me when I got on twitter in a hope to gain some knowledge in cryptos and of course, simultaneously making them either by trading or giveaways. Soon I realised, the giveaways on twitter are mostly fake with a pure intention of gaining followers(greatest respect and apology to the genuine ones). And thats when the seed of 'fake giveaways' has been sowed in my mind.

Till then, I thought people are fake only in real life.

One night, I came across a coin while i was on exchange checking out all the coins. I have certainly heard of steem but didn't consider it as a part of my trading coins. I visited its official site and it brought me here. I registered just like any other site and after a couple of days, I got a mail telling me that my steemit account has been verified. And the very first thing which encouraged me to write a post is free steem. I must thank the owners. I explored more and more here found it to be too exciting like bubblews(it has been shut down) where you can share your views regarding almost anything with other part of the world and yes, people do respond to it which gives you a kinda satisfaction and more over you get paid for being heard. Can't deny that.

Hello steemit users!! I am an engineer by profession with no interest in it. Understanding the responsibilities, I am also inclined to social working apart from cryptos.
Anyone has got something more cool for the members of the steemit community?
