My Story - Discovering Steemit - Discovering Myself!
Approaching my first 1000 users on Steemit, sitting back for a moment to see where I'm at here, decided to re-introduce myself:
I have been a software engineer for many years. After a divorce, I've been rebuilding my life. After the 2009 financial problems in US, I decided to look for alternatives to investing in US dollars, and real estate. I mined LTC, and purchased bitcoin several years ago. The crypto market was not developing fast enough and I got bored with it, after investing in the early crowdfunding for Ethereum.
Years later, I got a call from Ned, he was looking for developers. I got interested in crypto again, and realized, my investments had worked out pretty well for me. And I realized I wanted to become a writer and work on blogging and development within the STEEM ecosystem, with so many apps already being written.
I joined Steemit 2 months go as a user, and have never looked back. I've invested in SP, and have been working on my blog, and trying to understand the finer points of the steemit community, and the STEEM ecosystem of applications.
I find it very exciting, a new killer app. I think it's the future of the internet in many ways, and I want to be a part of it.
20 years ago, I wrote a book, and uploaded it to the internet for free:
The Joys of an Herb Garden at Home
So I guess that makes me a Hemp advocate.
The first section is here, and I've updated it for LED lamps: https://steemit.com/marijuana/@surfyogi/the-joys-of-an-herb-garden-at-home-v3-part-1-of-3-updated
The other 2 sections you can find on my blog.
Then, I found Rick Simpson on the documentary, Run From the Cure:
When I came to understand that hemp will cure cancer, and this knowledge has been hidden from us, it changed my life.
I've ran into Chris Harrigan on Steemit(!), an indie filmmaker, who made many independent documentaries. He created a documentary called Fighting Cancer with Cannabis Oil, and HE met Rick Simpson, and his community members.
He has several great videos up on steemit he's posted too. I hope to work with him in the future! See him at @xhrgn
Another Hemp advocate, Adrian Nantchev (@nantchev ) asked me to be on his Entrepreneur Podcast, so I said ok:

More to follow on that...

How exciting that you've come out of the writer's closet, @surfyogi! Liberating.
Maybe, given our shared passion for cannabis/hemp, we'll collaborate somehow? Just an idea to noodle. 😊
Ms Harris, I will chat you up, or you me.
@surfyogi, not-chat ;-) lol
Sounds great!

I'll be added to your 1000 plus followers, sir @surfyogi ...keep on posting I'm learning from you.
Sir @surfyogi. I have been following you for a considerable amount of time. I always liked you blogposts. They are most about the electronics. But getting to know you, I never got the chance since I was following you. But now I get know a lot of things about you. I already you're a good dad, you always help your daughter in singing and when she sang her first music lesson, you got very happy. You're actually making a real difference here. You write because you like to write. This can't be said for most of the people on steemit. they are here for money, but you're for sharing your wisdom.
Thank you sir for all your knowledge. :) Its good to know about your professional background and your investment ideas :)
It's a success, great!
I met you just today and I like your work!
Thank you!
Congrats on building a nice following here on steemit. I as well joined somewhere around 2 months ago and I won't leave any time soon (hopefully never). Keep on blogging !
Thanks for the links. I am going to watch them soon.
Congrats on nearly getting to the big 1k! The realities of cannabis are astounding, and we're finally getting to a point where the truth can't be hidden much longer. I'm particularly interested in the studies that will start coming out of Canada after legalization. Find a bit more about the actual good and bad so we can make more informed decisions in the future.
REALLY disgusting how long research has been made illegal.
Completely corrupt...
I'm a big fan of the magical plant myself haha You're doing great on here man keep it up. Good luck in everything u do!
Congratulations @surfyogi
I've been following you for quite some time. Ever since you first posted on my thread about making homemade french fries. You seem like a really good guy and I think it was a great idea to invest in Steemit. I look forward to reading more of your articles.
"I think it's the future of the internet in many ways, and I want to be a part of it." Couldn't have said it better myself :)
