Congrats on your son :) 3 kids sounds like quite the adventure!

Some general tips and such to get you started on here:

I highly recommend watching as many explainer videos as you can. There have been some changes recently and some things are quite confusing but you get the hang of it eventually.

The trick to making it on here is to make friends. Pick people you want to actually hear from and do not do upvote for upvote or follow for follow.

• A comment is as powerful as a blog post.

• Don't share memes or photos without saying something about them.

• Make content that people can share or relate to.

• Only flag once you've engaged with the person- give them a chance to fix whatever it is they did wrong first.

• Resist the urge to do a million posts a day.

• Get to know the bots like @originalworks.

• And check out the photography competitions. It's a great way to post something small every day if you can't think of a huge post to do.

• Build up your Steem Power so your vote is worth more and you can earn more curation rewards.

_ Also, your first post will probably be your highest paying post for a while. Don't let it get to you. It takes about 4 months to start getting somewhere.

• Share your posts on a FB group. @chelsea89 runs Steemit Dreamit on Fb and it's a great place to share your posts without being badgered by anyone begging for upvotes or follows. If people like your work they'll follow you.

Also keep an eye on the trending tags so that your post doesn't get lost in the sea of obscurity.
