Cryptocurrencies and blockchains

I don't think I need to convince anyone on Steemit about cryptocurrencies. It's becoming clear that cryptocurrencies are going to be a much bigger part of every day life over the next decade. It's a very exciting time to be in this space, like having Internet in the 90's. I plan to talk about some of my favorite cryptocurrencies in future posts:

• The Basic Attention Token (BAT), which could dominate the digital advertising industry and grow to a $10 billion dollar market cap in 2018.
• EOS, the platform behind BitShares and Steemit that could dethrone Ethereum and change how websites are built.
• Siacoin (SC), Mysterium (MYST), Golem (GNT), others, and Steemit of course.

Programming and web apps

I've been coding websites for work and fun for over 15+ years. I've used many different programming languages throughout my career, but lately I've mostly been using Elm and Javascript.

If you haven't heard of Elm, it's a programming language that compiles to Javascript and makes it near impossible to introduce runtime errors. It also makes refactoring code incredibly easy—much easier than Javascript. Although it's relatively unknown, Elm has made my life much easier and I hope to share some things I've learned about it.
