Hello Everyone! My Name is Richard, Thank You for the Amazing Platform!

Hello steemit community!

My name is Richard and I am 70 years old. My son @codydeeds suggested I use steemit to write letters to my granddaughter. I fear I will not make it to her graduation and it would be nice to have something for her to read from me. He mentioned everything on this website being stored forever in a block chain. I am not sure how all that works but it sounds interesting.

A little about myself, I started working for General Motors when I turned 18 in 1964 and worked my way up to General Manager. I retired and 2002 after 38 years of employment and have been enjoying my retirement ever since. I really enjoy my annual fishing trips to Canada and betting on horses at the local casino.

I had been spending the rest of my time taking care of my elderly mother but she passed away last week. May take up writing as a new hobby. I do not have much experience writing but am willing to learn, acquired many insights in the last 70 years. No relationship advice however, I have been divorced 5 times. Will write some stories about what not to do in relationships possibly.

I look forward to participating and interacting with everyone on here. From what I hear it is a great bunch of intellectual cutting edge people. Since I have no idea what is going on here that seems like the case.

Thank you for reading and feel free to leave me a comment!

Welcome Richardd. Your first post got whale vote.

You will have to fill me in, I have no idea what that means!

You can ask your son. He will tell you about whale.

Your brought your Pops to steemit, what a good Son.

I do what I can. There seems to me a learning curve and I didn't get much time to go over it with him. My daughter was running around like crazy. He seems to be leaving some random replies. I will try to work with him a bit tomorrow. Thanks!

All smiles here. He's doing just fine.
