I think some of the most talented and creative artists don't necessarily study art (at least that's what I like to think anyway :p), so it is great to welcome someone like yourself to Steemit, where you'll probably find some engineers that also like to dabble in art. If you want to give yourself more exposure, I suggest using the #newbieresteemtoday tag which is an initiative that @davemccoy has started to help all newbies to support each other.
