Chártis: Discover Navigation Welcome to the debut of Chártis, the first platform that will put GPS mapping on the blockchain using Proof of Location.

What is Chártis?

Chártis is the first platform that will track and record the paths and positions of both moving and stationary objects and put them on the blockchain. This includes people, vehicles, buildings, property, satellites, and anything else under the sun.

The positions will be recorded to a distributed ledger behind a private key which ensures each user’s privacy, yet allows for different permission levels among the various user groups, such as individuals and organizations.

The community helps to verify this data through reporting, and will receive Chártis tokens for their efforts. The more consensus that is built around reported data, the more the user and the network benefits.

We are currently working on getting listed on other exchanges as we were listed on CoinsMarket, Cryptopia, & YoBit under the ticker of (EMB) however due to those exchanges having there own issues with scaling , outdated wallets and servers, we will be updating all current and previous EMB(Ember) holders. Coinsmarkets stated on their website today, "We are here to stay , there is few DB issue we are fixing due to DB overload. Now we may be moving due to users contacting hosting and calling us a fraud."
Cryptopia is currently creating a sister site for trading LTC pairs including EmberCoin, timeline yet to be announced

Can I leave my Ember on an exchange or do I have to move it to the wallet for the coin swap/burn?

Yes, your Ember is safe either on an exchange or in a wallet. Nothing has changed in that regard.

So, this is the opposite of a privacy coin? You're going to be spying on me?

Privacy is paramount for Chártis, which is why every user will be able to control what data is publicly written to the blockchain. The publicly reported data will be used in conjunction with private data to provide the most accurate information, while maintaining everyone’s desired levels of privacy.

Why would someone use Chartis over GPS? What does it offer that GPS doesn't?

A typical GPS, like Google maps for example, does have reliable navigation data but it is not dynamically updated to reflect degree of reliability or popularity. For example, let's say you are going to travel from point A to point B, but do not know how to get there. With Google maps, you are presented with multiple route options, but not information beyond those options. With Chartis, you will be presented with multiple route options, and additionally a degree of "popularity" for each route. This "popularity" factor bridges the gap between what locals know, and what travelers unfamiliar with the area do not know. This same concept holds even more significance in off-road, uncharted, applications. If you are going for a hike, but do not know where you are going, Chartis will be able to provide you with off-the-map "routes that others have taken, by degree of popularity, to help you find your way. Lastly, Chartis uses Proof of Location to reward users with tokens for contributing data to the network for all to benefit from. Traditional GPS obviously do not compensate you for using their application.

What incentive do holders have right now to keep their ember coin tokens? If they’re essentially worthless until the swap, why keep them?

Perks of holding onto your Embercoins would be that they would be swapped into the new token based on the ratio we would be announcing soon

What would the coin swap/burn ratio be?

Specifics of the burn procedure, including the exact ratio figure, will be released in the coming weeks. We have our CFO Desmond, an economist by trade, who is working on the best numbers for this figure. Since EmberCoin uses Proof of Stake, it is increasing total supply every day. Therefore, the ratio is dependent upon when the burn will happen so that we can hit our Chártis total supply target.

Is the current website in it's final state?

No, the current website just has a splash page along with the Ember-Chártis announcement and details. The complete website with more information would be launched in Q1 2018.
