I'm looking forward to sharing images with you. My posts range from illustrations (I'm an illustrator) to travel sketches to abstract drawings, vector art, and paintings. They have an informational aspect to them in that they share something about how the work was created, what the inspiration was, how this or that problem was solved, things like that. The image here is called Frogman, one of my crazy sketchbook drawings. The source for the patterning is from a book on insects. Then I scanned the drawing and edited it in Photoshop for the background texture, which I also created. I've created lots of artwork for printing on fabric, so I have plenty of past work to draw from for things like that.

I have a very old cat named StinkaBabe, which we found as a baby abandoned in the rainforest out on the Olympic Peninsula. My beautiful wife and I live in north Seattle. We are traveling to Portugal this spring, and to Japan in the fall, so that is a big travel year for us. We went to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico last October for their Day of the Dead festival as well. After playing guitar for years, I got into African drumming, and then into Afro-Caribbean drumming and percussion. I played percussion (congas, bongos, bells and clave) for years in a rock band. But now I am regrouping and want to play more of what I really like - Cuban music, Brazilian samba, Cumbia, and in general Latin rhythms.

I've also done some video and motion graphic work. I was able to travel in Vietnam and Cambodia, where I did a couple videos for a nonprofit shelter. Another trip took me to Nepal, where I video documented a nonprofit project that brought water to a rural school. I did a video of a nonprofit in Boquete, Panama as well. These are then opportunities to sketch and photograph for me. As for sketching on site, I am drawn to things with lots of form and shadows. This tends to be the back side of things. Alleyways are generally way more interesting than well taken care of street side views. For that reason I am drawn to older neighborhoods and rundown communities. I don't know how many times I've stopped to draw some curious place when people came out to watch me, to bring the grandkids out, to bring me a cup of water, or just to shake my hand. It's very touching to see how much people appreciate you stopping in their neighborhood to do a drawing or take a photo.

Oh mysterious huh, welcome to steemit @mrsomebody I hope to see more of your great content here on steemit. =)
Why do you want to be mysterious, are you hiding something or you just want to keep it private? lol

Haha I don't think I want to be mysterious. My original name ended up having a typo in it (!). My son (@playitforward) encouraged me to change it as he had difficulty finding me, not remembering the exact spelling. Unless you are referring to another mysterious aspect... I would be interested to know since this is a very new environment to me. Ok I just added more background info about myself. :) @purepinay
