Hello Steemit... This is me.
I wanted to give some substance to my blog before introducing myself so now, ten days into my Steeming and after a few published posts I think is the time. I am Miro, a crazy Ashtanga Yogi/treehugger/cryptocoin aficionado from Croatia.
My 37 years long life journey was never straightforward. I come from the coastal city of Split (whose name usually draws all sorts of puns from English speakers). But for later half of my life I've been living in the Croatian capital Zagreb. I studied sociology and ethnology. Worked as journalist for years. Spent two years doing a laughable job in government office while I collected some money to invest in yoga and traveling. Then I went full yoga and started doing massage and Thai bodywork. I've been to India twice following the trails of yoga. Once it was the northern capital of yoga Rishikesh and the mighty Himalayas while the other time it was southern India and the historic city of Mysore which is home of my Ashtanga. As you can see from the photos I love traveling and have done a fine share of it.
But my exploration is not just of the outer world... I like to think of myself as an explorer of human body and all it's subtle energies. I've spent close to 20 years learning different ways to work with the body... first with Karate then over a decade of Wing Chun Kung Fu, and after discovering Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga I've been doing a decent seven years of yoga.
The seven years milestone is an incredible important for me - scientist say every seven years all the cells in our body regrow. So I imagine myself as a plant regrown in the fertile soil of yoga.
Some goofing around on magical beaches of Anaga on Tenerife
Chilling with my dogo buddy.
Doing some treehuggin yoga hippy stuff... nothing to see here.
Wanna see something freaky?
Even the scratched lens of my crappy camera cannot take away all the beauty of mighty Nanda Devi peak in the Indian Himalayas
What I learned so far life is simple. The other guy put it better than me: don't let them change you. Or even rearrange you.
And if I may add don't let them cage you.
In any way... be it slaving in box for 9 to 5, or making you believe you need to owe money to the bank to be happy, or just putting you in the mental frame of any ideology that wants you to think there's any idea, god or force bigger than human freedom, kindness and compassion for other living beings.
Before I leave I'll drop the two lines I found written on a wall in so called Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh:
Everything you seek is inside of you.
Inner peace is world peace.
Nothing to add there.
