This article gave me a nice overview of how to start off with steemit. Being new myself I'll start trying your methods to see how far I can go.
Sure, and don't be afraid to ask if you are unsure or want more help. You need to work and produce quality first and then use it to grow your network. This is the most important, regardless of the rewards, people will follow your writing and sooner or later you will land a dolphin or a whale liking you.
