Life is a kaleidoscope of colour clusters but we often chose to see things in either BLACK or WHITE.

Generally we like to put ourselves in a clear defined camp...A side of the fence...A comfort zone. On other occasions the powers that be try and force us to make that choice. To pick a lane...To jump on that bandwagon...To be that bitch.

Be it political standpoint, religious beliefs or sexual persuasion.

Education or brain washing...Our knowledge... Our ignorance... University graduates from the elite to those with PhDs from the street...

What we eat... How we dress...The music we listen to... The rhythm... The beat.. How we dance...How we move... How we love...Why we cry...Why we lie...What makes us smile.

Life is the blank canvas.

Our views, opinions and prejudices are the BLACK and WHITE background.

How we chose to express ourselves creatively as unique individuals dealing with our own "Normal" unique shit....That's the COLOUR baby!.. That's the special sauce... That's Life... That's the Magic!

However in this dichromatic gallery of BLACK and WHITE canvases there is a vast spectrum of GREYS... Discrete Micro and Macro variations...
Simply based upon an ever-changing and fluid perception of our environment, which reflects the light and reality of any event, at any given time, differently...

Each captured moment is individual and unique.... The way we feel and how we choose to react about that given moment must therefore also be unique.

Whether it be as a passenger or the driver, the victim or the perpetrator, the light or the tunnel, the beauty or the beast... The variables of the perception are infinite and therefore so must our conclusions be.

The human eye can only see 32 shades of grey... I'm going to show you 50.

In a sunglasses case.. I'm an oxymoronic, juxtaposed, flamboyantly humble bipolar pchitzophrenic. An altruistic, ignorant know it all crypto vampire optometrist with narcassitic tendencies.

I've lived an extremely colourful life.. travelled extensively, been around the block. Im the perfect shady character to be your tour guide... I always find myself in the wrong place at the wrong time.. But in terms of compelling content.. Its the right place at the right time.

So buckle up, grab your popcorn and your 50D glasses and get ready to see the world through fiftyshadesofguy. I hope you enjoy it.

Wrong place... Wrong time

I'm in Indonesia surrounded by rubble, death and chaos after a force 7 magnitude earthquake. The situation on the ground is horrific. There's been over a hundred aftershocks. My head of security's wife and 5 year old son are dead. Everybody is exhausted struggling to deal with the critically wounded, the families of the dead, and the poor locals who have seen their whole villages flattened.

With no water or electricity, provisions and medical supplies are struggling to get through. My intention is to share this tragedy as it unfolds so we can raise awareness, encourage more organizations to get involved and encourage fundraising through the platform or wherever appropriate. I'm going to start putting it together now.
