DANCING, DIVING & DRUGS.

Dance - my first love. Diving - my obssession. Drugs - my profession.

Wildly multi-faceted or possibly possessing split personalities, you decide:
A pharmacist by education, training consultant and founder of ENNOVE Consultancy by day, Chief Editor of Ocean Geographic by night, dancer, scuba diver, freediver, writer, thalasspohile, wanderluster and photographer (both land and underwater), sometimes I end up on the other side of the camera too.

The Dancer: Was a semi-pro dancer for 10 years, doing live concerts, TV shows, back-up dancing for singers, podium dancing in clubs. I’ve done ballet, jazz, street jazz, hiphop, lyrical hiphop, flamenco, tap, ballroom, Latin ballroom, bellydance, and now I’m very much into Tahitian dance. I also do dancers’ workouts like Pilates and Barre.

The Diver: Been scuba diving for 18 years, have over 800 dives, from Bali to Maldives to Hawaii, to Raja Ampat, Papua New Guinea and Cenderawasih Bay in West Papua. Started underwater photography in 2010. I use a small point-and-shoot, nothing fancy, no strobes even. So I usually take macro shots. For pelagics, I shoot videos. Freediving seemed a natural progression (after I started getting sick of the bulky scuba gear and the time it took to gear up). In fact, it was a fellow freediver, @kueonok, who introduced me to Steem! :)

The Drugs: A pharmacist by education, the nerd in me has done scientific research in the field of neuropharmacology, written 2 theses and published a paper. Started my career as a trainer in one of the top pharmaceutical companies, and haven’t looked back since. I’ve spent the last 2 decades of my career in training and education (lecturing the hardcore subjects like Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy - drugs drugs drugs and more drugs!). My last job saw me covering 12 countries in Asia-Pacific, training a team of trainers regionally as well as the sales force here in Singapore. Then I left the corporate world to set up my own training consultancy. Training is the easy part. Maintaining a pipeline of clients is the toughest bit.

The Ocean: My love for the ocean and the need to do something for marine conservation led me to the NGO, Ocean Geographic Society, of which I am now Chief Editor of Ocean Geographic magazine. I’ve been a judge, speaker, moderator, writer and field journalist - all in a day's work for Ocean Geographic.

When inspired, I pen my thoughts to share my insights and experiences. Whether you’re into dance, scuba diving, frediving or photography, or would like to know more about my work, just chat me up! I would love to connect with like-minded individuals and perhaps even collaborate on projects ─ it has to be for the good of the people and/or planet (my philosophy and criteria).

In a nutshell,
I LIVE. LAUGH. LOVE. DANCE. DIVE.
I'm sunshine mixed with a little hurricane, as happy as sunlight, as untameable as the sea ;)

Can we edit our blogs once they're posted?

As for my posts.... that's for me to know and you to find out! ;)
It can range from training/teaching to the ocean to dance, to diving and photography.

yes, blogs/posts can be edited. As everywhere, I would only use it to make minor corrections, though. Just click the "edit" button below your post.

Welcome, by the way, fellow scientist ;-)

OMG. I only just saw the "Edit" button. DUH!

Welcome, Im actually new on here too. It is pretty impressive what you have done thru out your journey, keep up the positive <3

I think we have sth in common, the thrill and the dancing, I started dancing since I was a kid, got into pole dance and belly dance later on but I never have the courage to actually pursue it further, It was all just fun when your start flowing with the music. Where are you from?
Hope to connect and look forward to your post :)

Inspire me ^^<3
-she said.

Hey! Nice to meet a fellow dancer! I just wrote something about Polynesian dances.

I think once we start working, committing to regular classes and rehearsals becomes much tougher to pursue any dance further. Add to that the ageing component (lol) - have to admit I'm not the same as I was when I was 20. But having said that, I can't stop dancing and I hope to keep dancing till I'm 90! Took me awhile to find a dance that speaks to me (after I stopped modern/jazz/hiphop), and I found it in Tahitian dance (my first class, it hit me so hard, I teared up; I thought, "This is it, this is MY dance!" so I hope to stick with it for a long time :)

welcome evonneong,,,, and good luck

You're very welcome. :-)
Thank you for your reply! :-)
Wishing you happiness, smiles, sweet dreams and sunshine! :-)

That was quick! :)

well, he is a bot.^^

Where is the slap forehead emoji when you need one......

Could you explain... "Upvote" and "Resteem" to me, please?
All I can gather is to roughly equate them to "Like" and "Share" in FB?

resteem equates more or less "share" in FB or "retweet" in Twitter.
upvote is similar to "like" in FB. however there is the reward system attached. the more upvotes you get and the more steem power the upvoting people have, the more steem you get paid 7 days after your post.
When you upvote yourself, you can also get steem for it (curation reward) , especially when you are an early upvoter and if yiu have a lot of steem power.

Hi from Nicaragua! Really nice introduction post. You seem to be a person of many talents. I hope you'll share your future adventures with us here :-)
Welcome to steemit. following.

Thank you :)
