Key to Success in Steemit ( Advise from a new Minnow)

I have been studying and monitoring most successful Steemians, how consistent they blog or vlog and the quality of their contents. To cut it all short, their success was not built on a platter of gold, it didn't come easy as they have been consistent and steadfast in what they love doing.

Also I do follow up on fellow new members, read their post, upvote and follow them up to see how things goes. What I find in most who drop along the way is lack of commitment and consistency and more often than not, greed. So I decided to outline this few key to success which I wanna follow and hope my fellow Minnow will adhere to. So below are some of the keys to success here in Steemit

• Engagement- As a new member, you need to engage with fellow new members and sometimes older ones for advise. Steady engagement helps to build your friends base and get you exposed to other steemians that can help you grow. There are few areas to engage fully here like various discord channels for minnows support and also steemit chat Constant reading of posts from other steemians, intelligent reply and not begging for upvotes or sharing of your links will surely get you some curation rewards and also improve your friends lists. So keep engaging at all times before even posting your first intro post because it is those your friends that will support you.

-Good Introductory post - Your introductory post can help bring you in lime light here in steemit, it shows who you are, the kind of message you tend to be sharing here as such ensure your introductory post is simple, concise and interesting with your photo showing steemit and why you think steemit is a place for you.

• Create your own nitch- Everyone has what makes them thick, look inward, what topic interests you most, what burning desire do you have. Do you love story telling, are you a food fan and good at cooking, a health enthusiast, an IT gig or a Cryptomaniac. Are you a hippie and a musical guru? Follow your talent, look for the tags , read about fellow steemians in same line and learn how the successful ones blog and strive to do better.

• Post on relevant tags- When posting, ensure you tag relevant sections which will not exceed 5 maximum tags. Do not write on religion and tag food section or write on food and tag on cryptocurrency. Ensure you post to related tags so as to get readers who are interested in such posts.

• Avoid annoying requests like Follow 4 follow, share 4 share , pleading for upvotes and sharing of your post links in others comment option. To many steemians especially the extablished ones who may wanna upvote you, this can piss them off leading to flagging as such, be polite and avoid such unwanted comments .

• Avoid greed- Never look at what top steemians or those who appear in hot and trending earn and be greedy and insist on earning such. Before thinking in that line, check out their reputation, numbers of followers and how long and time they have put in to be where they are. As such, remove greed and rememebr you are a starter who needs to earn and climb gently.
  _ Have fun- Steemit is a social media platform where you need to enagege, learn and have fun as such read up a lot of fun articles, enteract, chat and enjoy the entertainment aspect of steemit. Without your knowledge, you are creating contacts, building your reputation and the success aspect will gradually come

_ Always be respectful & mind your own business- When I was registering in steemit, my mentor @kenhudoy did warn me consistently to always be polite, respectful and mind my business here in steemit. So as a minnow, I never engage myself in matters that do not consign me. There are many issue which you may find, arguments between senior steemians, just avoid and mind your business and keep building your contacts than taking sides in any arguments which you may regret doing.

• Join competitions- There are a lot of competitions to help minnows stand in Steemit. So always go to minnow support section and or browse around to find areas you can engage in and show your talent.

-Post Original contents consistently. Avoid plagiarism, copy and paste and stealing others work. Endevour to post regularly or consistently good and interesting posts. If you have to copy someones work, proper citation is needed either in photos or text. Your blog space in steemit shows who you are, make it look interesting and use interesting photos to garnish it.

-Keep learning- Steemit is packed with so many knowledge, infact a knowledge bank as such, keep learning and strive to be better than the best which will improve your blogging experience.

So My fellow lovely Steemian, although many of us ( myself inclusive) were lured into steemit because of the financial reward it offers, let us all remove the money aspect of steemit, remove greed and always ensure we share good contents so we will keep learning and improve our blogging skills for our benefits and the benefit of the entire community and sooner than later, the success aspect of it through good rewards will start flowing. That is the key to success here, that is what makes our successful steemians successful
