Introduction + sample of story

Hello my name is Alex, 18 years old from England. A guide said I should introduce myself so i'm doing that. I do beekeeping and have an interest in crypto-currencies. Anyways, i'm writing a story for my girlfriend for her birthday (she wants to be an author), so if y'all want to read it ill insert it below. Feel free to laugh, insult, (or up-vote) as I haven't read a book in years so the likelihood of it being mediocre in quality is slim.

The last thing I remembered was the bang, the high pitched, deafening bang as the remnants of my bright yellow dinghy rise above a monster wave, propelling a black metal box from my hands into the jagged rocks ahead. Did I know where I was? Probably. Did I know why I was there? Probably. Did I realise that the next 287 days would be the greatest test of my life? Definitely Not.
Day 1. I awake with the sun beaming down on my face, a warmth pulsates through my body as I open my heavy eyes, creating the illusion of safety. Within seconds I can feel it, initially a mild throbbing just below the knee before progressing into an agonising pain coursing up my leg. My eyes divert their attention to my leg and I breathe out slowly, “oh shit” … I murmur. Cherry red blood oozes out of a three-inch gash in my leg, meandering down to my ankle, staining the white sand beneath me. Only now do I realise where I am, not in the bright yellow dinghy, but a beach. Looking around in wonder, gulls caw above me with the vast expanse of blue ocean ahead. Waves lap at my feet, cleansing the sand of my blood. I turn around, rotating my body and to my surprise there are no trees, but lush green grass with orange flowers sporadically poking out. “Fuck!” I hiss as a wisp of fine sand blows into my wound.
I gingerly rise to my feet, biting my dry tongue in an attempt to tame the vicious pain in my leg. Questions race through my head. Where should I go? Is my leg infected?, Who am I? All I remember is the bright yellow dinghy and the bang, my name, job, and personal information a mystery, Am I even alive? Like a dying animal I limp towards a small opening in between two rocks, hoping they will provide rest bite from the draining sun. Delirium sets in, the two rocks become one and everything begins to spin as I approach. Resting my head against one of the cool, smooth rocks a tear swells in my eye, trickles down my cheek before dropping onto a silver ring on my finger. E.N.D.E.R.B.Y is ingrained in the ring but before I can process this information a blood-curdling screech rings out in the distance.....

Spooky! I also saw somewhere I should add some images so here's a couple of pictures I took when I went to Vietnam and Egypt. Again, photography isn't my strong point
