13 days on steemit, 100 posts - Reputation almost 40. My experience, advice to Minnows/beginners

Just the other day, on my 11th day, I finally managed to my raise a $3.6 something worth dollar value post Just like the first time.

It was the highest ever since I started the Steemit Journey. And what a journey! What are the lessons?

Just to make sure you can appreciate what I am saying, let me briefly let known that I am now 13 days old on steemit. I have since made 100 posts, including comments and replies.

This is the 101. I have 46 followers. But perhaps what is revealing is that I am only following 46!

So overall, this is my 13th day on steemit. And on this day, I have decided my 101th post will be a Thank You to the steemit community that not only welcomed me, but has since shared with and fallen in love with me.

Yes, from being invisible as a beginner and then minnow, to becoming slightly noticed…

From seeing $0.00 and at best $0.01 value for every post I would make, posts on which I would spend hours writing, editing….to now seeing some $0.05 and shortly $0.1…my path has been long, discouraging, but intense and persistent.

But not all has been discouraging. Looking back now, I am actually glad I have had to live through, to fight through the challenge every beginner and minnow is faced with. I am proud, and grateful to steemit.

The $3.6 something...value was the first time any of my posts had accumulated that much. Little I know, but it was a land mark on my growing reputation here on steemit.

More than else, it grew my confidence, the belief that it is possible to progress high up the steemit charts without trading your creativity and quality.

At any rate, therefore, i have to say that if the lock into Steemit value is REPUTATION, the key is persistence in quality of post and comment.

If you are a beginner/minnow out there, you do well to remember that: Quality, engagement..

Get involved, when commenting. ‘Nice post’, ‘Thank you for sharing’, blah blah blah…will get you know where.

I almost made the same mistake, until I bumped on a guide by @miti titled Newcomers, minnows and spammers.. this post will save your reputation!

If you are a beginner/minnow out there, I advise you look it up. Please do. Don’t be shy. You will testify shortly

So yes, I have much to celebrate. Only in 13 days, my reputation is near 40, at the time of this writing, I belief, is an accomplishment few ever manage.

And unlike others, I believe with the whole of my heart - and I bet those who have followed me since, will testify – that I have managed this through quality post writing and commentary rather than with garbage posts and spam commentary.

Above else, I must acknowledge the 46 followers who were interested enough to read my poems, short stories, quotes….and who were faithful enough to follow me even though my reputation still read 25!

You all gave me the courage to persist, and it is because of you that I never gave up.

Again, I am proud that I met and kept you, not through post and comment spamming, but through quality posting and commentary.

Minnows and beginners who spend days and hours writing “Follow for follow” comments and posts do well to take this advice: that nonsense doesn’t work. Again, read the guide by @miti titled:Newcomers, minnows and spammers.. this post will save your reputation!

There you go. A century of Posts. A quality following. A high enough reputation given the time i have been here.
