moving my censored activism to Steemit and DTube!

in #introduceyourself7 years ago

The YouTube monopoly on videos is ending! Steemit is a blockchain-based website which works along with DTube to grant users cryptocurrencies for uploading, rating, and commenting on posts. No censorship, a real community feel, decentralized power, and solid features.
I think YouTube will be forced to adapt to this new and emerging force. Either way, I'm moving most of my activism over to Steemit. I'll continue to post post of my uploads here to YouTube as well, although most of my activism is capped at a couple hundred views. I just feel it's time to make this move, as YouTube crushes independent media like me, and demand for a decentralized replacement has brought about this option.
I'll always maintain and update my YouTube channel, regardless of any new uploads. My 600 or so videos aren't going anywhere! You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/user/drutter
Thanks again to the Steemit / D.Tube community for the warm welcome, and for help navigating this exciting and complex realm!

Just seen the youtube video... dtube is 1000X better :)

I sure hope more do the same, I am spreading the word as fast as I can.

Thank youuu : D
It feels so good to be able to upload videos, comment, and rate.... simple stuff, but things Google has been totally monopolizing since 2006!
Even knowing my comment is actually going to post, is refreshing. The site works and it's got the features I need. Very happy!

You have a great plan and it looks like you have everything covered. Good luck in D-tube.

Thanks! I plan to sprout and grow those seeds in a video series.
Would showing cannabis plants in the growing process be considered NSFW here? I don't want to have it show up where it isn't acceptable. They're "legalized" in a lot of places but here in Vancouver it would still be considered civil disobedience. Just curious your opinion : )

I though NSFW was mostly for porn and illegal stuff. Posting a link to buy it would be a problem. Use your discretion. Growing a plant should not offend anyone. It is illegal to grow here too but not illegal to talk about.

You have taken the best decision to move over here, away from where you don't get rewarded for your years of hard labour. We are a huge community here and we love you.

Welcome on board!

You're upvoted and resteemed.

Wow, I'm honoured you said that! Thank you so much.
And yes, I'm getting a sense of the size of the community now. Excellent! And I believe if things continue to be stable here, it will only grow and grow.
I feel glad to have somewhere to be heard again, and to be allowed to have an opinion again. My dislikes and likes on YouTube stopped working 2 or 3 years back. I had to take Google+ in order to be able to comment on my own videos, which I did, but my comments rarely show up. You can't rate comment there anymore, either. It's a useless shell of what it was 10 years ago. All I can do at this point is upload videos. Even THAT has been neutered, as I get only a few hundred views per video, when I used to get thousands per video back when I was new on YT.
So about FRICKIN time! : D
Feels amazing!

Interesting. That sounds like working for nothing. Happy to have you here, bro!

Isn’t it amazing how Steemit has dramatically changed everything. Just wait till the whole world finds out— uh goodbye Facebook, goodbye YouTube. Thanks for playing.

Welcome, and I am also a new follower.

This is a good platform for uncensored videos on controversial topics, or even mundane ones.

Im always telling people I see about steemit for this very reason. Your welcome here!! On the block chain baby!
