Grow Together

Hey Steemit! I’m DancingBunny and you're all going to be in for a hell of a ride! I’m a biomedical engineering student at Georgia Tech working on personal development and trying to make sure that the artistic side of me doesn’t die ☹. To do that I try to draw and write in my free time whenever I feel inspired. Thus I joined Steemit! Everything I do, write, and say is very impulsive if I’m being honest. But at the same time, I want my actions to reflect on my view on life, which I’ll make another post about. But really, I want people to grow together with me in my journey as an artist and as a person. I'll probably most just blog on here but whatever.

Every once in a while I’ll think of things that inspire me. Things that make me say, “Wow! I could write an essay about that. I’d be perfectly happy sitting down for however long it takes me, whether that be a minute or a day, just fully fleshing out that idea.” Most of the time, I never actually bother to write these things down and they kind of get forgotten. Like I said, I’m trying to work on personal development so I’ve been writing some of these ideas down. It’s also a good way to procrastinate on school work or studying, but I had a thought. Why not share everything? It’s always better to do things together, whether it’s failing together or succeeding together. It’s better to grow together, walking along side one another and pushing each other to grow.

This part isn’t that relevant, so you can skip if you want
Really, please skip. It’s quite embarrassing what I used to be like
One time that really stands out to me was in high school and middle school. When I was in high school and middle school, everything was so easy to me. I didn’t need to study for anything, I didn’t have to ask many questions, I just got As. Eventually, when I got to high school, my ego was incredibly big. I went to a private school where I had to take tests to get into and I thought to myself “wow, maybe things will be harder here.” And so, I went to that school with high hopes but nope, some people would study their ass off for weeks in advance for a test to get a 97, where as I’d simply go over my notes the night before and get a 96. Yes, people beat my grades but that didn’t mean anything to me. Why? Because it was so easy. Had I studied a day beforehand I could’ve easily gotten a 100. On a side note, this is a very big reason as to why I’m struggling so much in school right now and a very big part of my mentality that I had to fix later. But eventually after that happened in all my classes, things were just so boring and depressing, I thought to myself, what’s the point? Why am I doing any of this? And eventually, I lost all desire to study and so I stopped studying, never caring when my grades occasionally dropped below a 90 because I never studied. I remember some teachers were extremely frustrated because they knew I could do better, but I didn’t care. The point is that there was no challenge for me and so learning, which I loved to do in elementary school, became boring for me and I stopped caring about it. It’s the same as with a sport or a game.
Back on topic

Have you ever gotten to the point where you get incredibly good at a game that everybody seems to be horrible at it? Or just gotten moderately good but then decided to go beat some noobs? Maybe it’s fun at first, but eventually it gets boring so you go back to playing with people who are the same level as you. Now imagine that there’s nobody at that level and everyone’s a noob. No matter what you’re doing, it gets incredibly boring, incredibly disheartening, and eventually you become apathetic to something you once loved. Therefore, we should share our experiences so people can also learn to avoid similar potholes! Then we can all help each other out and go farther together than we could’ve gone alone. Now apply that to life, to self-development, to relationships, think of how far everyone can go! It’s exactly why humanity has developed so much in such a relatively short amount of time. It’s wonderful that people share their experiences with one another and have websites like this out there. That’s why I’m going to begin blogging here, I want people to argue, consult, agree, banter with me, etc., forcing me to think and broaden my horizons.

I fully acknowledge all my faults, I’m that great of a writer yet, but I’m working on it! A lot of things that I write about will probably be really corny or just common sense, convoluted and maybe hard to read, but as long as one person benefits from it, that’s fine. Plus I'm sure things well be easier to read as I get more experience writing. I think if everyone had a little bit of personal development the world would be a better place and people would be happier. Or at least more excited about life. I have big plans to try and share my kind of obscenely optimistic view about life, but for now here’s the start! Follow me to grow alongside me on this amazing journey!
