Due to my past I met a lot of people that were addicts or in a relationship with someone who is addicted to a drug.. from alcohol to heroin. The only thing I could tell someone who asks me for help would be just to never give up the hope and faith. I also could only manage because people believed in me.
If you really are the addict, it was probably in your best interest that you did not receive the money. I think most at NA would agree that it's not healthy and more-so tempting to have that kind of access to money. Not that your needs can't be met, but they can be met in a way that helps you progress and live free of such problems.
