I'm Adrian and just joined Steemit yesterday, without really knowing what this all is about! =D
I am 26 y/o from Germany, studying at Maastricht University, in the Netherlands and at the moment I am on my exchange semester in Lima, Peru at Universidad del Pacifico.

I thought Peru would be a cheap place to stay, but after one month of living in Lima City I noticed, it is not... So since I left school in 2011 I am financially independent of my parents, and I am also financing my exchange semester on my own. After one month in Lima, I figured out that somehow I need to generate an extra income to survive this exchange and started to try out different things on the internet.

There are millions of people out there who promise you the best way to earn money online, but like 99% of them are simply bull-shitters...
But still, as my hope is to find a way to earn some money online, while staying in Peru, I will try out different strategies and concepts of these people who offer you the perfect "passive income money machine"...

When I talked to my fellow students in the Universidad del Pacifico, Lima one of them advised me to join Steemit, as this is already a pretty good opportunity to earn some pocket money with creating quality content for the community.

So here I am! – And I thought my contribution to this community will be, to try out different ways to earn money online and then write a report about that for you.
We can exchanges strategies and knowledge and in the end, everyone can profit from that. When one concept does not pay off, I will report it and you save some time trying the same shit… and if one concept pays really off, I will also report it and then you can also try it or copy it!

From Badass Soldier & Van Life to Douchebag Banker

Soooo let me star after graduating from school…
Yea, so in 2011 I finished school in Germany, did my A-Levels(Abitur) and I have to say, I really hated school! – So all my fellow students went to Universities and started studying straight after school. But I was wild and I thought I could never go to university because there are so much better thing to do in this awesome world than reading books and sitting in the library...

I have always been a great fan of movies like Indiana Jones or Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, and I liked to play Computer games like Battlefield and Call of Duty. So the first thing that came to my mind after school was to join the army! In my opinion, it seemed to be a fun place, going out into the woods with the other guys and just being a badass, shooting guns, roping out of helicopters, jumping out of airplanes and playing war games with the big boys. So I went to the army office and voluntarily signed up. When I arrived, I told the guy in the office that I want to become a paratrooper, but he answered: “Boy, are you really sure? You can become a cook or a truck driver, but becoming a paratrooper is really hard…” But, yea, in the end, I really became a paratrooper!

It was a really hard time but one of the best times of my life! Spend a lot of time in the woods playing war games with the guys, while experiencing the really hard drill of the army. Within the paratrooper training we started with 37 guys, but after 3 months only 17 were left. The other 20 were not hard enough to resist the permanent pressure and the drill, the sleepless days and nights during the hell week and the physical requirements of the training. Obviously, as paratrooper you have no lazy, chilled life. The paratroopers are part of the Division for Special Operations and to survive in this elite force you have to have an enormous level of physical and mental strength. Most of these douchebags had not, so they were sent back home to their mommies...

One of the best things in the army was that I earned good money but had no time at all to spend it, because I spend my whole time in the base or in the woods. So after 3 months in the army, I could afford my very first car! An Oldtimer VW T3 Bulli / Van build in 1978! This awesome car was older than I am and I really loved it and spend a lot of time on the weekends to make it a home on reels.

During this time I also met my first girlfriend. But we did not simply meet…
One weekend during the early spring of 2012 I was on a house party, dancing wild to Electro or Dubstep Music. It was more a pogo than a dance and people on the dancefloor were pushing each other from side to side. Then this girl came to me and gave me a heavy head-nut… it was not a soft touch, she smashed her head against mine and then left the dancefloor to the girls toilette. I was confused but I wanted to pay back! So I followed her to the toilette and we started fighting. The security came in and grabbed me to pull me out of the party location, but she followed us to tell them that everything was fine and the fight was just a joke… So yea, from thereon, this was my girlfriend. A pretty wild, rebellious girl, fearless enough to smash her head against my “soldier-jar head”. From the first day on I really loved her, and also until today there was no other girl like her.

So then, in summer 2012 I had this awesome girl and this awesome car and was earning pretty good money in the army! Everything was perfect. We planned a road trip together and with my best friend at this time and his girlfriend we drove through Europe in my van. From Germany to Paris, over Toulouse, to Barcelona, Spain and back along the Mediterranean coast to the River Ardeche in France. We had a wild time, driving through Europe, sightseeing, doing the tourist thing, partying, drinking and having hard sexy in dirty, cheap hotel rooms in Paris or where ever we stopped for a night over in the van.

Then in September 2012 things started changing...

I quit the army, because I never wanted to stay for ever or really go to war for reasons I am not supporting. (Honestly, for what shitty reasons people get send to war ...) I came to learn the army thing and to prove to myself how badass I am. I wanted to get my "Call of Duty real life" experience. So I got that, it was fun, and then it was time to continue...

But never really had a clue what I want to become ? What kind of Job should I do? How can I become a "successful part of our society" ?!

A friend of mine, working in a local bank close to Cologne, Germany at this time, talked to me and said something like: "hey, come to the bank, its a chilled job and we earn save money..."
I thougth: " Yea, thats true, look at these banker dudes, wearing their suits and always looking busy. They work in a bank, where people save all their money, so they obviously also earn good money..." And thats what I started.
In September 2012 I joined a local Bank and did a vocational training to become a Banking Professional in Germany.

That was a crazy game-changer, from being an ass-kicker in the army to being a ass-licker in the bank, sitting all day in front of a desktop and beeing ass-licking nice to every stupid customer...

That was not the only thing that changes. My girl decided to go to Australia, work and travel for a year, looking for new adventures on this sunny continent and leaving me back in my new, obviously boring job.

We decided to stay together, stay true to our selves, and that I will visit her in Australia after 6 months...

So she left, and I worked my ass of in the bank, and did 2-3 extra jobs during nights and on the weekends to save up enough money to visit my girl after 6 month.

During this time in the bank I already noticed, than even after my vocational training will end, I wont earn the big money. The banking professionals who already graduated didn't earn that much. It was enough for a small life without any big jumps. Regulary small sallaries, coming in every month, just enough to pay rent and all the monthly bills... not enough to ever become a wealthy person.

I started questioning and searching for answers... What does it take?
What should I do to earn good money to become a wealthy person? How much is wealthy? What do I value more, money or free time? Do I want to spend my life sitting in a bank and explaining financial products to people I don't really like?

After 3 months in the bank I already decided that this is not the path I want to take, but at least I want to graduate as banking professional, because I am not the kind of person who breaks up with something. I always have to cross the finish line. No matter what.
