Introducing myself and my art.

This is an original oil painting I  finished  earlier this year "Mission Impossible"  It is oil on board. 8"x 10".

Im new to steemit and excited to try this platform out. I have heard great things about it!

My name is Drew Steadman. I was born in 1984 in guelph ontario, canada.   Like many artist I started drawing at a young age, I later began  painting when in high school. Initially i painted strange characters and surreal scenes, but then began to  focus on copying the works of caravaggio and velasquez. I  enjoy working on  portraits and figurative paintings, usually with abstract negative space, and paintings of people and landscapes made up of small squares. 

Lately I  have been more focused on painting smaller still life and trompe l'oeil works.
