@sndbox: Hey @monomyth! It’s great to finally have a time to ‘sit down’ and chat. Before we begin, why don’t you tell us a bit about yourself for viewers who haven’t met you yet.

Well, that question has a long answer. I'm a geek first of all. I love comic books, movies and all geeky stuff. Also I'm studying about computer science. And I'm Batman by night, but don’t tell this to anyone.

@sndbox: Blockchain Batman you say? You’ve piqued our interest, what brought you to the world of Steemit?

I joined on the sixth of June 2017. At the time I was a freelance writer and Steemit was offered me better opportunity to share and monetize my blog content.

@sndbox: Steem definitely is an amazing resource for freelancers. How has your experience on the platform been over the last 6 months? What do you think you’ve gotten out of it?

Oh that is a hard one. Well, before Steemit I didn't know anything about cryptocurrency world. I'm also a screenplay writer and me and @vitruvianman (a super talented filmmaker) always tried to make good short movies but we didn't have enough resources to make it happen. But through Steemit we have had the opportunity to learn a lot about the crypto world and we can fund projects with support of Steemit and @sndbox. So in this way, Steemit is like a school for me. I'm always trying new things, learning, teaching, making mistakes, discovering new ideas, meeting good people etc. And at the end of the day I'm moving my work forward, because I'm earning experience and reputation too.

@sndbox: Anything big coming up for you on Steemit?

Well, me and @vitruvianman are working on a mobile game project. So, the game will run on Steem API and I hope it will change something within the Steemit world. We will share it first part of 2018. This is our big gun.

@sndbox: You and @vitruvianman have been very active with a community group account called @tach. Tell us a bit about the Turkish Accelerator Hub and the kinds of programs you guys have been working on.

As leader of @tach I'm trying to grow Steem within Turkish Universities. I am excited about this happening. I think Universities represent one of the best places for Steemit to find new and great content producers. Also, we started a software workshop for Steemit in my own University. I think in the next 6 months the software workshop will be complete. Maybe we will have a few new Turkish apps for Steemit in the future!

Here are a handful of @tach's upcoming goals:

  • Launch of a Steemit tutorial website for the Turkish community

  • Street Pet Program: homeless animals in Turkey is a growing problem, with this program, @tach will be spearheading an initiative to shelter pets in need.

  • Steemit Turkey, The Documentary: Interviews with Steemians, Stories and Ideas for the future

  • Launch of SteemianTV An outreach YouTube channel for new Turkish users to learn all about Steem and cryptocurrency (Purposefully on youtube to draw in a new audience).

  • Software Workshop Series alongside @dogancankilment, this program will be focused on developing Applications build on the Steem blockchain.

  • Meetups and University Workshops: @tach will also organize organize events for members of the Turkish community on special occasions throughout the country.

  • Power-Up Goal: @tach will try to collect 3,000 SP by July 2018. With this amount, the tach team will be able to further support the Turkish community and newcomers.

@sndbox: As a more experienced member of Steemit, do you have advice for new users who have recently joined the community?

Enjoy it, be persistent! Don't give up! I think most important thing here is not the content we create everyday, it's the relationships and networks we are building. Because with tags, there is a huge amount of circulation and people can't always see your content or project. The first thing you need is a network. So, be social, share lots of good comments (real engaged comments), talk with people and join a competition... finally, don't lose your password!

I like the part where you guys are aiming to help the homeless animals. They are the ones with the least voice...and the most oppressed. They deserve a good chance.

Hi @cutemachine, well this game app is a secret for now. But you can imagine a game running on Steem blockchain and you earn token with playing game. Who knows maybe it will be part of SMT's :)

Wow @monomyth you guys are clearly making a huge difference on that side of the world. First of all, it's so cool that I can actually become of aware of what you are doing.
