International Workers' Day - Vappu
I was out there, checking out what vappu, May Day had to offer for me, but when it started raining wet snow, I had to come back in and check out my last years vappu photography. It was as cold last year as it is now, approx 5 to 10°C. Can't remember if it rained then, but the way the clouds look in these photos, I think it did. At some point.
So here's something for you. Few photos and a short story. Happy vappu y'all!

You do know what vappu is all about, don't you? Choosing the best of the best. Or the best of the worst if you woke up a bit too late.

You should know that most of those that you are looking for rely on distributors. On things that advertise them and help you choose if you don't know what you want. Some of the distributors are really eager and some are just standing out there, hoping that someone would be interested and would take the first step and approach them. Either way, you can't just go and take what you want without asking first.

So you either are one of those that have that certain one in mind and nothing else will do, or you are one of those that accept the first one you see. Or perhaps you are one of those who go out there looking as you weren't looking at all, do few nonchalant flybyes and hit immediately when you see a suitable target.

You see how most rely on crowds or to the power of their friends. A posse. A gang.

But there are also the lonely, but really heartful ones out there.

If you are looking for eternal soulmates, you should choose very carefully.

There are those that are all dressed up, but their panda eyes give them away how hard they've been celebrating already for the whole past week. If you are into that, you have found your match.

But be aware, there are also some creepy stalkers. Anywhere you look, there's always someone staring at you.

If you are late, there are always the leftovers. Those that no longer are that fashionable and not that many were interested on them. But to you, they may be the ones that save the day.

Unfortunately there are also those that are deserted and forgotten...

...and the ones that got away. They will stay in your memories forever.
Choose wisely, don't let it run away and remember to keep you surroundings nice, clean and tidy.

Very nice. I didn't even go out, on that day! I stayed home having a good, much needed rest! 😝
Nice post, this was funny!
Thanks! :)
Rest. I started my day about two hours ago and I already feel like I should go back to bed and rest a bit. :D
Owning a fleet of minions is exactly my idea of workers day ;) cheers

Minions might not be the best workers. You better have a good insurance.
An insurance against work!

Some say perustulo (basic income) is an insurance against work. Lazy people doing nothing. I don't, but some. I hope we could get perustulo here in Finland.
I think about as "fuck you money" (a technical term). It helps people to say no to assholes who want to take advantage of a potentially vulnerable situation.

I feel a bit confuckulated, workers day or singles event? :)
Simply described the thing that happens when a family / grandparents with a child / grand kid who baaaaaaadly wants a balloon, go to the Vappu market. The most important thing in the world. Getting that freaking garbage balloon that costs 10 to 50 euros. Actually, I think 10 euros will get you nothing. Perhaps a laugh.
I learned a new word today! So not a bad day after all. :)
