Katydids

Hello Everyone in #steemit
Meet my new friend call Katydids , Let me introduce you to her.

Insects in the family Tettigoniidae are commonly called Katydids or Bush Crickets.
This one in the photography are the Nymph or juvenile Katydids , looks like a Grasshopper but the hind legs are much longer than grasshoppers. It closer family to Crickets than Grasshopper due to it rubs its legs when making distinctive sound. That's how it got its name.

Latin Tettigonia mean Leafhopper , it is from Greek Tettigonion, the diminutive of the imitative (Onomatopoeic)
The common name "Katydids" is also call Onomatopoeic

You may not know much about Katydids, probably because they are masters of camouflage. Their green colouring and leaf-like shape helps them blend into leafy surroundings, and they are most active at night. They may be tough to spot, but may be a lot more common than you think.

Its rub its legs to make the sound

What Katydidn't ?
When it stop rubbing it legs
Did you hear where its coming from
So the next time you are in your garden.
Listen to the sound
Where it comes from
It could be yours Katydids
