Excuse me, where can I drop a link to my post?

Excuse me, where can I drop a link to my post?

That seems to be an innocent enough question, but what is really behind it. One thing that @innerblocks has been facing is an increase of community members. That is in no way a problem, but it does come with it's own set of challenges.

Information

As the project continues to become more complex, there is naturally more information to convey. There is information about the front end, the Steemit account, discord, chatting, radio shows, delegations, curation etc. Just this week we have come together with some of the Inner Blocks Ambassadors to translate the channel Who We Are into different languages. We now have English, Spanish, and Bangla. At least that is what Google Translate is telling us.

The point of this is to be able to convey solid information and remove the barriers of understanding. Inner Blocks has a great vision and intention, and now we need to spread it around the world. As new members continue to join, we will continue to add translations to enhance the experience that everyone has with Inner Blocks.

Dropping Links

One of the seemingly unspoken aspects of Steem Based communities that use discord is the option to share links to posts, mostly our own. For the past two years that I personally have been involved with Steem and Discord this is common. Some communities encourage it heavily as a way to gain exposure for creators and new members, while others discourage dropping links completely.

Inner Blocks is currently processing this side of the experience. Daily we are met with direct messages asking where and how someone can share a link to their post. If often looks like this...

"Hey, I am new to Inner Blocks and I noticed that I am unable to leave a link to my post. Where and how can I leave a link to my post?!"

So to add a little context to @innerblocks and what we are about...it isn't that.

We are about encouraging everyone to live their life. To create content that reflects their real life experiences. To build up the many different "blocks" that make them who they are. As a community we are coming together, chatting, building, connecting, curating, supporting and growing. There is a much larger picture that we are focusing on, and it expands beyond individuals wanting to increase their own followers and post payouts.

There are several ways that community members are qualifying to leave links to their posts on the Inner Blocks discord.

  1. Have the role of @ innerbunch. This is a role that is given to those members that are interested in the larger project, and this is the role that gets tagged when we share information. This is a hand off. If you want to share your work, well, then you are going to get notified about everything that is happening with the community.

  2. Have the role of @ leader of a great community. This is a courtesy that is extended out to the leaders of some of the most amazing communities in the Steem ecosystem. I say some, because we haven't connected with everyone...yet!

  3. Be active in the community. This could be a measurable about of chatting and participating. This could also be volunteering as a curator. There are many options for a "work around"

  4. Be a @ delegator and support the project through a delegation of Steem Power. We are currently working through what the minimum amount of Steem Power would be. It won't be much, and it will be fair. To jump in the middle of an amazing project and get all of those eyes on your work....it should a bit.

These are just a couple of examples of what building a growing community looks like. There is always the option of complete chaos and a free for all, but I think we lean into the side of structure. We are moving full speed ahead and there are many moving parts. Sometimes creating a system that has structure is the equivalent to the amusement park saying

"everyone keep your arms and legs inside the roller coaster at all time"

It isn't necessarily that they want to keep the riders safe or even restrict their freedom to be and do whatever they want...they may just want to avoid having to constantly create a mountain of paperwork and create new operating policies and procedures every time someone loses a limb..... haha Sometimes structure just works.

Curation and Delegation

When it comes to what is going on with the community growth and outreach, one of the largest aspects is the curation. @innerblocks openly accepts delegations from anyone that wants to support real life, first hand content. Anyone that wants to encourage others to be who they are, and love every part of themselves. Anyone that may also believe that we are all responsible for our own well being (physical, spriritual, mental). We are all responsible for ourselves and the reality that we create through our decisions.

The delegations are used to support Inner Blocks as a whole. We have a discord based manual curation operation. There is currently 11 team members that find and curate amazing content from around the world. Many countries and many languages. We are using the currently 10,000+ Steem Power to curate content, earn rewards that grow the project, and claim accounts.

If you are interested in delegating your hard earned Steem Power to support an amazing project, Please do!

@innerblocks

Come join us on Discord and jump right into it.

Thank you
