Ornament and Misfit

This is a set of two drawings this time because these two seem to go together well.

17. ornament

DAy 17 was ornament. I didn't feel like doing something super decorative so i went with this one. I'm not sure if i've done a selfportrait this year, it's been a while anyway, but this was a good time for that. I didn't have a real christmas ball at hand so, i looked up an app with fisheye filter to make the picture to something sphere like and then just wing the rest of it.

18. misfit

The first thought was to go with something related with band Misfits..then i thought to use that skullpaint on some face. So, i searched for misfits and i see the movie misfits pop up. I remember i did a practice piece back in school that had the pope combined with the marilyn monroe make-up, combining of Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon and Hermann Nitsch.
I decide not to go with any facepaint shenanigans after i watched this mesmerizing clip and thought it was just fine to draw a frame from the scene. I'm not doing any sketches for these, just going straight with the marker, often leaving things a little off, providing some extra mental challenge for my self - though i am trying to keep it fun and laid back.
Otherwise i do like drawing from a reference and that might be something i will return to after this inktober.
