Inktober 2018 Day 17 : “Swollen”... or in this case, Swole

The Hulk didn’t comport himself too well in his last MCU appearance, but I have a feeling he’s due for some redemption in Avengers 4. We’ll see...

The tools.. warm and cool gray Copic markers, some pigment and multi liners, ballpoint for feathering, Pentel brush pen for heavy black areas, and white gel pen for corrections and highlights:

My own grid, scale:

Begin with light pencils. No detail yet, just make sure everything is in roughly the right spot:

Tighten the details a little:

Light pen work, erase grid lines:

Begin with lightest tones first :

Build on that:

Throw in some of the darker tones:

Yeay, color:

Some black for contrast:

Continue to build:

And more:

Almost there... even signed it already, but not quite complete:
