in #injury6 years ago

Hey Folks! Have you ever found your self in a situation where you or someone else got injured and you don't know what to do next? If "Yes" then this article is for you and if "No" then too it is for you because it can help you to save someone or your own life, if required! This is an area where we never think about and only comes to know its value when we get stuck in that situation.

Today I will discuss about immediate management and first line treatment after an injury. This is very necessary for us to know as the situation can be faced by anyone of us at any time. God forbid it will not happen but accidents and injuries never tell us before coming.

Injury management totally depends on the nature of the injury. There are of 2 types of injury:

1: Closed injury: No wound but pain, swelling, and inflammation will be there.

2: Open injury: Fracture or open wound with blood.

TREATMENT

1: Closed injury: The front line treatment for close injury is ice! Its superb use other than on the rocks drink! We have to make sure that there is no fracture as fracture will indicate chronic unbearable pain accompanied with lots of swelling and inflammation around the injured part. Mostly we do the opposite thing by applying hot fomentation on an injured part. But the new scientific method says ICE! And you will not believe that it will work as a magic. Start putting ice for 24-48 hours post injury and 90% pain will be gone, unless there will be no fracture! After 2-3 days we can move on hot fomentation.

2: Open injury: Open injury management also depends upon the type of injury. If it is just a simple laceration or wound than clean the wound with water or antiseptic liquids and apply Framycetin Sulfate (Soframycin) ointment. If the Wound is large or suspected fracture then immediately call the medics and try to stop the bleeding by compression. Stopping the blood loss is the main and crucial first injury management in major open injuries.

I hope this article helped you in understanding the basic and first line injury management! Stay health friends and feel free to ask the doubts, if any.
