Trump Isn't So Bad After All

That's what they'll say. Or at the very least that's what they'll think if and when Bernie Sanders becomes the Democratic nominee for the next general elections in the U.S. Right before the first real elections in the Democratic primaries it's becoming painfully clear that both parties' establishments would prefer a continuation of Trump's presidency over allowing Bernie Sanders to become the next POTUS.

I and many other proponents for progressive economic policies have said this for a long time now: even the Democratic party would rather see Trump win another term if the alternative is a real progressive candidate who threatens to redistribute income and wealth in favor of the working and poor. That would be the first time in almost a half century, and the elites from all career branches, the professional management class all the way up to the pinnacle of the corrupt plutocracy, tremble in fear over losing the very privileged position they've built for themselves over that time; the first politician who truly wants to put an end to the neoliberalism that sacrificed the well-being of the 90 percent on the altar of corporate profits will have to fight both wings in the corporate party-duopoly.

These past two weeks the Bernie campaign was smeared by Warren, Biden and Clinton consecutively, all attacking him with blatant and obvious lies. When asked if she would endorse Sanders if he were to become the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton refused to give an answer. Think about that: when given the choice between Sanders and Trump, she won't unequivocally say she would support the Democratic candidate, not if that candidate is Sanders. Remember that Trump is described as "the most dangerous president in the history of the nation", that he's dangerous enough to impeach even. Every day Democrats lament over how Trump is a criminal, a racist and a compulsive liar; but Bernie doesn't even meet the standard to clearly stand above that very low level in their eyes. That says a lot about how both party establishments are connected at the hip and how they both represent the interests of the corporate and management elites.

When Hillary Clinton says about Bernie that "nobody likes him," that's obviously not true: all polls say that he's America's most popular politician by far. That's true in general but also, more importantly, when all proposed policies are compared individually; medicare for all, raising the minimum wage, raising taxes on the corporations and the rich, the green new deal, you name it and they're all overwhelmingly popular among the working class, poor and middle class people. Still, I don't think Hillary lied. What she was referring to, is Bernie's popularity within her own overpaid Washington DC bubble. Bernie is not liked at all among the members of both political parties who have sold their souls and their people to the multimillionaires and multi-billionaires who cover their pay-check, because they KNOW Bernie will bite the hand that feeds them. He'll give it his best shot at the least and with the support of the popular movement he's built over these past four years there's a chance of a true popular uprising against the elites of not only the Republicans, but of both parties. We're lucky that Hillary and the corporate media both haven't learned the one lesson they should have learned from Trump's victory over Clinton in 2016; we're sick of business as usual in politics and we WILL choose a president that's not liked, hated even by party- and media-establishments.

Trump will make a second term.

lol great satire

Bernie winning is indeed a great satire.

The spineless loser throwing his supporters under the bus and apologizing to Biden is a winning strategy. It will be funny reading your comments after the elections.

Great conspiracy theory! I love presenting things as if they appear in a vacuum and there's no broader context or strategy! Facts n logic!

When will you stop making excuses for that loser?

When Trump wins again? After Trump serves his 8 years? Never? Will you talk about broader context and strategy when Bernie fails to win, again?

When you show an ounce of any semblance of understanding political news.

I know Yang has no chance but I do like his energy and ideas.. Far too progressive and earth shattering to work anytime soon, but it's refreshing to see a human.. Bernie is a human as well but he has a, target on him so he is cautious. Yang gives no fux

aint that the truth. The media will never address this point though, even though the writing is on the wall.

... it's becoming painfully clear that both parties' establishments would prefer a continuation of Trump's presidency over allowing Bernie Sanders to become the next POTUS.

That includes Bernie as well.

He's not there to get elected, he's there to derail the progressive movement. What he did in 2016, he'll do in 2020 again. Perhaps then the Bernie fans will wake up to what he is - just another self-interested politician.
