Thanks so much for stopping by, and for the sobering comment my friend :-) I agree on both points actually; yes, I'm very pessimistic at the start of this new year, and yes, I should have inserted the word "further" somewhere in the part you quoted here...
Yes, well @zyx066, I suppose "no way out" was my first clue you might not be in the most optimistic frame of mind to begin the New Year my friend. 😉
So ... Adding "further" you are suggesting we have already devolved and are only going "further" down that path ... No argument here, although I of course view the root cause of that from a very different perspective ...
P.S. BTW, I agree with your post's title. There's "no way out" of the challenges this world faces. At least not via any sort of evolutionary process ...
