The Horrible Persecution of the Falun Gong
China's Falun Gong practitioners are regularly rounded up, unpersoned, and sent to "re-education" (labor) camps where they are tortured, become emaciated, beaten, and worked to death by sadistic party members who are "only doing their job."
In a special report from Fox 5 News covering a documentary film entitled 'Finding Courage', you'll see a canned news montage of about twenty-odd Chinese speaking news anchors chant in a chorus the following: "We must listen to the words of the Party, follow atheism, denounce Falun Gong, keep your faith in Communism."
The clip also shows administrators of these torture facilities actively holding hostage the dead bodies from family members of the deceased, unless and until they agree their loved ones had died of natural causes.
The people who bravely smuggled the undercover film from the labor camps have found themselves on hit lists where they will be killed in China if apprehended by authorities.
Among the footage smuggled out of the country was a video of a dying man in a vegetative state who was clearly abused by his captors. The man who filmed this encounter used specially designed camera's hidden covertly in everyday objects like automobile key fobs, and various other items.
According to Wikipedia: "Falun Gong or Falun Dafa literally, "Dharma Wheel Practice" or "Law Wheel Practice") is a Chinese religious/spiritual practice that combines meditation and qigong exercises with a moral philosophy centered on the tenets of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance." - Falun Gong on Wikipedia
I think the group's three basic tenants: truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance are exactly what we need more of in every nation on earth. It is the absence of these very qualities which causes most of the problems we see in modern day society.
The only threat that Falun Dafa practitioners pose to society is a threat to conformity. As long as they are not hurting other people, this so-called threat to conformity is no threat at all. There is no logical reason to cause harm to this group of peaceable people.
The up and coming documentary produced by Swoop Films is set for release this year. I would strongly encourage purchasing a copy when it becomes available and gifting it to others so you can help to shine a light on the darkness that is the persecution of the Falun Gong.
Shocking stuff, Not words I say very often, but good on Fox news for reporting on it .. probably be a bit too close to the mark for CNN. Seems human rights are only important when you seek a regime change or a country has oil/resources .. strange eh?
I know right, it makes me wonder what they're building up for. I think economically speaking the US is in between a rock and a hard place and when they let stories like this trickle out through the mainstream media they may be signaling countries that things can get nasty quick like.
Regardless, I do appreciate the honest reporting, even when it's from other countries aimed at America. The North Koreans did a documentary about America once, and all they did, for the most part, was tell the truth.
But I think you're right when US/Chinese relations are good, these kinds of things tend to fall through the cracks when it comes to gatekeeper outlets. Saudi Arabia and Israel are great examples of countries with a piss poor track record with regards to human rights, but as long as they have something for the US, mums the word I guess.
