At This Point, What is the Left Resisting??

This question has had me perplexed since the summit between President Trump and the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.  From what I could tell, that should have been the moment where a lot of this resistance started to die out.  What is more unifying that bringing a "hermit kingdom" back into the global fold, ending an almost century long war and starting dialogue between two countries who share a name in the Korean peninsula?

War

What major war are we fighting?  The answer is none.  This was one of the biggest worries at the onset of the Trump Presidency.  "He's going to start wars all over the globe!!" they all squawked on the 24 hour liberal news outlets.  Well, from what I can tell, animosity is slightly less in the world since Trump became the President.

We used to hear about dust-ups in Syria on a weekly basis.  In 2017, Syria crossed a line by attacking innocent people in their country.  It turns out it may not have been chemical weapons but we all saw the photos and it's clear something was done to them.  Well, Trump stood by his words and went ahead and strategically dropped bombs on specific locations within Syria.  How many big dust-ups have you heard of since.

Iran

Source

In January of 2o16 Obama sent $400 million in cash to Iran (reported at the time many believe it was far more).  On the same day Iran released 5 American hostages.  Obama had spoken about a deal with Iran but left this portion out of the deal and it was the Wall Street Journal who finally broke the story some months later.  At the time, Obama said as part of the deal he released Iranian funds that we were holding.

Whether it was a ransom paid for the hostages or was actually part of the deal doesn't matter, in my opinion.  Iranian leaders have led chants of "death to American" since the 70's, were chanting it in 2016 and continued to chant it after they suckered the Obama administration into doing a deal nuclear deal with them and they chant it now.  Why on earth would anyone even entertain any sort of deal with someone who clearly wants to harm them?

Well, President Trump and Secretary of State Pompeo shredded that deal and instead went the other way, punishing them with sanctions for their stance towards the United States.  Since being heavily sanctioned Iran has seen their currency devalued to nothing and unrest among their people.  Just take away the aid that we send them and see if the leaders will actually step up for their people.  Their people learned that their leaders don't care about them and Iran has lost economic clout in the world.  This seems like the only way to treat someone who is ungrateful for what we do for them.  What Obama did can be likened to parenting: Your child will become a brat if you continue to reward bad behavior.

The Economy

Source

Unemployment at 3.7%, 2nd quarter GDP at 4.2%, business confidence at multi decade high, tax cuts and rising wages seem pretty good to me.  Obama had a golden opportunity to be the president who brought us out of recession and into a booming economy.  There was nowhere to go but up and if he had believed in American business, the American worker and American entrepreneurship he would have been known that way.  Instead, he believed in government intervention, imposing regulation and socialism and gave us the slowest recovery ever and stagnation for almost a decade.

Trump came in and quickly cleaned up the mess with drastically decreasing regulation, new trade deals and the promise of more to come.  What was the result?  More domestic economic activity with manufacturers using their assets to produce at a higher level than we have seen in over 10 years.

Another result of this pro-business stance we have seen the lowest Black and Hispanic unemployment rate ever recorded.  Kinda debunks the "racist" thing, huh?

It seems obvious but a belief in your own country's ability can really turn things around.

Now for the Resistance

Source

I am convinced that some people are born to blindly follow no matter how many times the same people lead them into the same pit.  This has never been more evident in my lifetime as in the case of the progressive liberal.

From the first day of the Trump Presidency we have heard the same thing over and over from the "leaders" of the left.  Hillary Clinton continues to spew the line that Trump will not succeed because he doesn't know what he's doing.  No matter how many trade deals get done, diplomatic disputes settled or jumps in economic conditions she has roughly that same line.

Nancy Pelosi said that the new tax cuts would be "Armageddon".  She said that it would just make corporations richer and they would never give any up to their workers.  Then, almost on cue, many and low-level corporate employees got sizable bonuses due to the tax cut.  Ms. Pelosi retorts by calling the bonuses crumbs.  Can you believe people still buy this?  In what world is paying less in taxes bad for an individual?

The Kavanaugh confirmation process is the best case so far to illustrate the "born sheep" theory.  We all saw the Ford/Kavanaugh testimony.  We saw the holes in her story and the complete lack of even one corroborating witness, all of which named by Ms. Ford.  We saw Ms. Feinstein say she didn't leak Ford's letter to the media when only her office possibly could have.  Then, if that wasn't enough evidence against Ford's claim, we also saw the FBI do it all over again and (from what we know) they came back with the same information that we already knew.  Even after all that we still see people completely melting down over the confirmation.  The only reason that anyone could be melting down at this point is because they are uninformed and blindly following what their democrat leaders are feeding them.

So, I pose the question:  What could you possibly be resisting at this point?  Please be very specific.  What policies/outcomes do you feel the need to resist and why?

Sort:

The political circus is the inevitable consequence of the inherently unstable sociopolitical matrix of democracy. Granted, all human sociopolitical organizations are de facto oligarchies, but the West has the veneer of "representative" form of government, whether it be democracy or republic. The forms of the system must be observed, and in the US, the elections of biannual Congress and quadriannual puppet king dominate the propaganda cycle. Whether the dominant political party succeeds or fails in policy remains irrelevant, since electoral opponents must provide rationele for change.
